I’m planning to book a weekend away for myself soon. Can anyone recommend someplace nice that doesn’t rob you blind?

I haven’t decided yet. But probably not Dublin. I’m thinking somewhere calmer.

Ah yeah. I’ve been doing that. But I know us fabbers have more hands on experience with hotels than most. So I thought some would be able to recommend a few nice spots.

Inchydoney Lodge and Spa is pricey but worth it

The plaza and The Ross in killarney often do good deals and are both nice in different ways.

Well the Whest of Ireland is always great to visit. The Twelve Hotel is situated in Barna on the outskirts of the city of Galway. It's a boutique style hotel beds are massive. I should know I had my first MFM in one lol.

For a more rural location the Lodge at Ashford Castle is in Mayo. Another fabulous boutique hotel. Beautiful walks in the woods and the village of Cong is beautiful. Neither of them are overly expensive either.

Dunboyne & Dublin

Brooklodge in Wicklow is fabulous.

Assuming that you are not going alone, book the exclusive spa treat with personal use of a steam/sauna/mudbath area if you're feeling naughty.

Ireland's only fully organic restaurant but it's not cheap, though there is also an Italian and a little pub, with loads of scenic walks. Kinda idyllic but look for deals
