Great to see others and nor just Attenborough rasing awareness about the plastic problem. Jason Momoa has shaved his beard off in an effort to raise awareness too

Who's Jason Momoa?

Ireland is no 1 when it comes to waste plastic production in Europe. 61 kg per year per person.

Lidl will introduce in store recycling stations for customers next month. Finally you can leave unwanted packaging in the shop and hopefully lidl the producer will cop on and eventually get rid of the surplus plastic packaging altogether. it's totally mad how almost every vegetable and fruit is wrapped in plastic here.

Guinness announced this week that they will get rid of all their plastic wrapping.

It's slowly slowy catching on here but it's crucial that America and China cop on too.

It's probably the single biggest problem environmentally at the moment, single use plastic should be banned everywhere, makes zero sense and everything you buy should be free of plastic or the packaging should be recyclable but unfortunately in this country things are only recyclable if its profitable

Also he's the guy that played aquaman, khal drogo etc..

I agree its great to get highlighted and that its is clearly a big problem, but its no where near as big an issue as Carbon in the long term effects to us.

Its just alot more visable

Plastic is now making its way into the food chain and is becoming bio available which will result in long term health problems in the futue, yes its not as great as carbon but a reduction in plastic should correlate with a reduction in carbon emissions

Two dead whales have been washed ashore in the last two month, one in the Philippines with 40kg of plastics in his tummy, one in Italy with 20kg of plastic.
