Something just a bit different and fun.... who’s into their Irish/Country music and go to the “dances” or to see the big names on the scene? Who can jive? Who has the gear.... the cowboy boots, hat etc? ..... ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

OP do you mean specifically Irish country music, or Irish music and country music?
The slash in the title is a little confusing.
Anyhow, I'm a fan of Irish trad and old American country, but Irish country just doesn't work for me. |

"Trad, yes.
Country, no.
Jiving, no.
I don't mind an ould old time waltz or two all the same.
Shiver me timbers!
You mean to say the Mick don't jive "
He'd be more of a man for the set dancing than the jiving ![](/icons/s/cool.gif) |

Hi, Irish/Country is the Irish version of American style country music with the basis instead of being the traditional 4 to 5 piece band of drums, bass guitar, rhythm and lead guitar and steel guitar being accompanied by brass, fiddle, accordion and the 2/4 tempo a little faster to accompany jiving. I hope this clarifies it for you ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Oh yeah, I understand what it is, I was just curious about the slash between Irish and country.
Wouldn't it be 'Irish country' and not 'Irish/Country'.
Anyway, don't mind me, I'm just in one of those moods ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |
