Furthest you would travel for a social?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

So give me your views or experiences and tell me the distance you would go or have already gone for a social. Did they turn up, was it worth it etc.... I was once considering a flight to Manchester. Might still be an option some day but lets see what you all think.

If time permitted I wouldn’t mind travelling but I’m always under pressure. If the chemistry was serious I’d be happy enough to take to the road, not the sky though... way too much effort!!

Thats what i like to hear. I like it when u have a plan on meeting over a coffee or a drink and then things very quickly spiral out of control and before u know it your clothes are falling off all over the place lol

For a social, about an hour max. Unless it was somewhere we were travelling to anyway,e.g.we have met people for a social drink in Dublin while on our way to or from the airport.

Well if I was to have an imaginary marker I would start from galway going along to Dublin down to Waterford then over to cork then back up to galway anywhere within that area would be my limit would swing if I was visiting UK but would be very limited to my hometown reading if anyone has heard of it

your imagination

I rarely travel very far purely for a social meet.. 2 hours would be my limit, and there would have to be a seriously good rapport for that to happen. I do however have social meets when I'm already travelling, especially if I'm travelling to an event, I might stay overnight and meet someone for coffee beforehand... Or even meet up with someone from the event again the next day

Furthest I've been to meet someone... Manchester. But I did arrange those meets around the Lounge Socials to make the most of my trips

If the chemistry was high, I would travel 2 for fun lol

Seriously though, I travel on business at times and try to fit further afield meets in with that.

If i went and did the Manchester one it might get out of hand and turn into missed flight and a hotel stay too

It doesn’t matter to us how far we travel as we would always stay overnight so we could have a few drinks and enjoy ourselves and if nothing else we have each other so win win for us lol

Wouldn't go out of my way for a social or meet tbh! It's either city centre or local for me.

If I really liked someone and thought there was potential for something real, I'd travel.

Snap we have no problem meeting for a social drink , have even offered to meet non verified to give them their first veri , but like you the amount of no shows , we now don't travel for single guys , if they want to meet they will have to come to us , or else if we are away in some town or city outside of where we live then no problem but no more driving to meet singles or unverified couples
