Depends on the hotel.
A lot of hotels now will ask for card verification in the case of any room charges like telephone calls, used items in a mini bar, room service etc.
It's usually a good idea to check with the hotel in advance. |

You better look to book it forward or else you might get there and they tell you we are full , lots of hotels though will accept your card without charging you and you pay at check out or check in they only need the details in case of damages or mini bar etc used |

They're pretty much guaranteed to ask for your card.
Just tell them.you don't have credit/ debit card but will be checking out in person.
Not sure how that goes but interested to read your experience |

I used to hate giving a credit card.
Some tips you can do that worked for me:
1, ring up in advance saying how you want to pay cash. Card expired or don't have one etc.
2, Say how you stayed there before when at reception. I never got turned away saying this one and I used it A ALOT.

I always use my card to book if I'm travelling to events here or in the UK, but pay cash when I check in. I've even used my card to hold rooms at special discounted rates for group events and just told the other swingles/couples to pay cash on arrival. There has never been an issue and my card has never been debited |
