Glad to see our prime minister in Washington with his partner. He was in Chicago today with a mighty smile on him . Just wondering did he give or receive last night. He was walking funny !!!!!!!!!

Yeah Fine Gael are certainly known for their dedication to fun and their liberal attitudes, so that's absolutely why they voted him in as leader.

He has about as much clout as i have when it comes to Irish policy. He's a Brussels lap dog that isn't allowed to make decisions without the say so of the EU.... independant nation my arse!

your imagination

Why is a politician's sexuality important? Does it affect how he or she does their job? If they're a great or a crap leader, whether they're spooning a man or woman at night is hardly relevant Or is it that he's open about it that's so upsetting? Are we hankering back to the days when high profile folk married someone of the opposite sex for 'show' and then lived their true lives in secret, terrified that anyone would find out. So much for progress....

The complete lack of understanding of somebody becomes Taoiseach in this thread is astounding.

Realistically, you have two choices for Taoiseach in the next general election. You can have Leo or Micheál Martin.

There are your choices. You don't get to decide who is Taoiseach. You get to decide who is your local TD. They have already chosen their party leader.

As for Irexit, sounds likes a whopper of an idea to have a tiny island nation in the edge of Europe floating along all by itself. But you're right, what has EU ever done for us. (Monty Python springs to mind)

Errm...plunged Ireland into massive debt via the European central bank? Turned Ireland into a complete dumping ground for too many migrants (#not all) taken away central control of it's policy and decision making and determining it's own laws and fiscal decisions...

It pumped Ireland full of money through lending and expanding the money supply...then called in the debt, shrunk the money supply and rendered Ireland a slave state of the EU...Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Portugal and Spain had something similar done...

" my question is who paid for lover boys trip???"

Would you be asking this of it was his wife with him.

Of course the state paid for its Leaders partner to go on a State visit with a massive trading partner and a usual strong supporter of our policies woth Europe and the UK.....

I've been in enough spaces where someone has shouted burn the bondholders to know that there is no use having a conversation.

As for migrants, we are the country with a long history of emigration and have millions of Irish people living abroad.

I think Gemma O'D might be more your thing.

Aside from his sexuality , which I've no problem with , he's feckin' useless , and was never elected .

I don't see why it should be either Leotard or mehole, their are other parties out there, just a pity we seem to be stuck with the 2. Couldn't care less about his sexuality, but he is useless and if another crash comes, we shall be rightly screwed.

You mean Sinn Fein or the Solidarity Party? Get a grip, they would destroy this country if they got into power

And the 2 main parties that have been in power are doing such a bang up job. One party put us into a big recession by saying the bubble wasn't going to burst, and the other is throwing away money as if we are the richest nation in the world.

"As for migrants, we are the country with a long history of emigration and have millions of Irish people living abroad."

So we should be aware how we helped nearly wipe out native Americans, and helped almost wipe out native Australians..

That although those countries wanted us to visit, needed the workers, were often begging for us to arrive, were at a stage of their development where they had to build whole cities, our impact was devastating to the native people.

We should also know that recently we sent away a lot of people to Canada who was begging for them, and they were builders and now we have a builders shortage, and that the countries we are taking people from will have a shortage of doctors, trades people for generations if we keep taking them and only sending the criminals back.

We should know that to help them we don't need to offer them and their descendants refuge for thousands of years and make them Irish, but keep them safe for as short a period as possible before they can go home and we can do everything we can to help them rebuild their country.

But we are globalist country now, we want in on the UN, we want in on Five Eyes, want done away with our constitution, we want national pride done away with in favour of populations with no tie to their land who can move around for jobs and make work cheaper for the big companies, and we are going to keep as many migrants as we can and not do right by these countries and work with them to fix their homes.

Plenty of us here don't won't anything to do with being part of the globalist community, but we are being sold this alright. I have nothing against migration, but does any country really need so much of it. If the globalists weren't so greedy by going into third world countries and robbing their resources, while creating wars. Just maybe people wouldn't have to flee their home lands and also profit themselves from what's there.

Politicians ain't running this world, they are being paid off by the big companies and lobbyists to make it look like they are. The exact same people who are paying them, are their puppet masters. Unfortunately we are serving them too and buying into all their shite.

Polticans are no better than criminals in my mind. They will do anything to please big business and under cut those at the lowest end of our society, while allowing a picture to be painted that it's the ones at the bottom fucking shit up.

The ecomany was messed up by the rich. The planet is being messed up by greedy corporations and their pollution. They fund and arm groups maintaining proxy wars. To which the Irish army help train and skill share. We all know about Shannon airport.

To me most polticans are just legalised Mafia and a moral punch bag for the normal Joe to hate so we don't turn on the rich who are really in charge. They are Sham to coin and Irish phrase.
