First of all not sure if they bother read the Ireland forums ( they might cause not long ago got a 48 hours ban ) .
The questions are
1 when you press send message in a forum you have a limited time to delete the message , why not an edit message option ? Let's say you type a long text and after send you realise there's typos would be handy to be able to just edit it
2- delete threads - let's say I start a thread for a party or something tomorrow , tomorrow comes the event happens , why the OP is not allowed to delete the thread ? Seen some that after you get in you realise it was something 5 month ago |

The example you've given of why it may be good to be able to delete a thread, as an OP, is a good and practical one!
However, some threads and thus comments need to be 'public record' for people's own references or else ignorance/hatred/trolling could be too easily swept under the carpet by some
Also, 'preview message' is a Godsend |

I know what you mean but the report button is there already so if some hate , ignorant thread starts you can report it and even take screenshots to contact who ever runs the site |

More than likely to stop the "you cunt".. *edit* "oh okay" kind of posts that would happen.
So it would take a lot of work to implement, and more work to moderate as moderators would have to go through every edit and every delete. |

It would be more practical to allow the op to lock the post and let it die."
True either lock thread or delete , about the edit could work as the delete option a limited time to do it , so it would avoid the I insult you now and then delete in an hour or 2 , my point about the edit option is for the ones like me a bit OCD that the post it's well typed or at least people be able to read and understand it |

Like said already, try use the preview before post button. I’d be as bad stuff I’m thinking sounds ok to me but as soon as it goes up here it ends up arseways |
