If you can drive stay away from Dublin as a place to stay , great to visit but the hotels will charge you loads , all depends on what you looking for , try counties close but outside Dublin or airB&B might come cheaper and you get a full place for yourselves |

I'd second the Galway suggestion. Fantastic spot to see and no shortage of craic.
There's a few spots in Dublin to see but best to limit it to a day or two and go see Cork/Kerry/Galway instead.
Feel free to message me if you want any specific tips in any of them |

I'd suggest avoid dublin, head to Cork, kerry, make way up west coast to Galway and west port then onto sligo and eventually donegal, you wont be disappointed. |

Looks like Galway a must then thanks all for tips; our ideal accommodation would be a pub that has rooms as we get to mix more with the locals and get to know a bit more about where we are etc will be checking out air bnb and done deal we can't do hostel or guesthouse as were open to a little fun whilst over should the opportunity arise |

hiya,
yep Cork, Galway, Derry of Course then Belfast...Galway all the way though. Not affiliated but recommend Garveys Bar (central, next to main bus and train station) -great pub, reasonable rates and conveniently located. |

One thing to note is that the first weekend in August is part of the Race Week in Galway so will be packed and pricey. Otherwise shouldnt be too manic. |
