123 are, got a letter the other day. Border counties get them automatically but others just apply online. Read something also about nordy license people living in South should change their license before Brexit.

My insurance company told me last week they will let me know in due course if I need one but my policy will still cover me to drive in the Northern Part of this Island after March 29th until Brexit details are sorted out

Not sure tbh, but I'd imagine it would be after, if ever, a deal is done.

A lot of insurance companies are issuing them but they will only be required in a no deal scenario so you won’t knkw if you have to use them but in reality you probably would t be asked for it anyway though does no harm to carry it

And I thought the south were the weirdos, my insurance emailed to tell me I’d be getting one for going down south

It’s not even an orange card, it’s a green card too

Well its going to be a no deal anyway.

Then the US is going to force the backstop on the UK and the no deal will have been for nothing.

Never had one before an it never stopped me crossing the check points, I’ll be surprised if there’s not another public vote an they decide to stay, lots of companies pulling out of the uk most say not because of brexit but why else, there’ll be no jobs left

Eh, colour me confused

We didn't need a card of any kind years ago when there was a real border, so why do we need one now?

Thinking because we are no longer really Irish we’re European (Irish).

My insurance company contacted me to say they are sending me a Green card for travel to Europe and the ROI after 29 March and that I should show the Green card should I be stopped at any EU borders.

Because of EU customs laws....

Youghal

We've been advised by insurance company to get green cards.

We both have UK licences and will be changing them too.

Don't agree here.... We're always Irish regardless, one should never lose their sense of national identity

Lol you don’t agree that’s why we need green cards? I’ve family up north who I’m visiting since there was no M1. Before you didn’t need any paperwork I’m saying because we’re part of a Union of countries we do. That’s the only reason I can see. You pointed out It’s EU customs paperwork. Never mentioned anything about loosing our identity but I’m slowely wondering is that not the way it’s going.

I only pointed that out because it's the literal reason, there should be free movement between the North and the Republic otherwise they've broken their promise

Calling ourselves European over Irish sorta does sound like a loss of identity ?

The British fucked up with their Brexit but we the people of Ireland should not let it dictate who we are.

It's only a matter of time until Brexit triggers a referendum under the good Friday agreement and we'll see what happens.
