We are not doing enough. We need to expand to other planets, this one will die through sun expansion or a large enough strike.
Yes, do all that we can to prolong the habitability of the Earth, but if we become sentimental about this planet we will eventually go extinct. |

Out inability as a race to change quick enough to counteract all the bad we've caused in such a short period is an impossible task, we still continue to drain the earth's resources at an increasing rate and pretend that simbolic measures we take will help... Doomed I fear .. |

You honestly belive we can inhabit other planets?? This is not Star Trek, there AREN'T any other planets that can sustain life, not close enough for us to conceivable travel to anyway. When this planet dies, so do we |

The world cannot sustain global human population growth at the current rate with the population doubling in the last 30 years. Regardless of what is done to save the planet environmentally all we are doing is biding time. Unless we address population growth we are doomed to failure in 3 or 4 generations. There is no easy solution or any viable solution currently on the horizon. Sad to say but unfortunately very true. |

So u agree with me " something drastic needs to be done. I've lived in China and seen the effect of the 1 child rule...female infanticide....etc. There is no easy solution. Compulsory castration or snip ops for anyone over 30 might be a start. |

There are millions of Earth like planets out there, there are many things we need to do before we can develop the technology to travel to then, a Dyson Sphere in the long run, a space elevator would be an enormous step especially when combined with asteroid mines.
Even now we could conceivably build a generation ship within the next couple of hundred years for interstellar travel. People can’t see past their own noses and anyone who speaks of other planets is ridiculed. If only we were ruled by intellectuals. |

Unfortunately the laws of physics and Einstein's theory of relativity rule out colonisation of planets outside our own galaxy. Pesky thing is nothing can travel faster than the speed of light if you follow current physics laws. Not even a fleshlight....so let's just accept we're all doomed so let's go out with a bang....hedonistic lifestyle ..free love...etc. |

I think there is something about the universe expanding faster and faster. If we want to jump ship we don’t have all the time in the universe because eventually other galaxies will be moving away from us faster than light. At that stage, we don’t see stars anymore.
In a sense we are very privileged to live at this moment in time. |

We will never leave our galaxy, which is held together by its own gravity, but it’s very conceivable to move arround it. People scoff, but their lack of understanding is more amusing than anything. |

I have a very good idea, you are taking about using the planets closer to the sun than us as well as many asteroids, and that’s just for a very small dyson banding sphere obviously it’s an astronomical project that would take generations to see it through as well as almost autonomous drones. If you recall, walking on the moon was once science fiction, as were heart transplants but it’s the fiction becoming reality that brings us forward. Are you really that narrow minded that you think that because we can’t do it now that it’s impossible? |
