Some nice one's out there but kinda expensive . You'd think twice about touching a can after getting a tatse for the IPA's . Ever tried making your own ? Some good kits out there . |

"Very partial to the craft beer that's been around since 1759"
If you're talking about the big G , they changed it a few yrs back . It's like alcoholic cola now . I used to like the stuff but wouldn't touch it now . |

"The craft beer scene in Ireland is constantly growing.. What's your opinion of them.. I think they are wonderful. "
most of that craft beer is a scam..its exactyly the same as commercially produced beer..Its only called craft beer to justify charging a higher price |

"Its a lot of shite to drink to find a few decent ones usually. "
Which is why we're helping you by naming great ones.
Get a few Franziskaner wheat beers while you're at it, in case you don't like our suggestions |

Galway Bay Full Sail is the business.
I find it hilarious that people think it's a marketing ploy...maybe if you're drinking blue moon or archway.
There are tons of Independent breweries around the country. I'd rather spend a few quid supporting a local indigenous industry than loading up the coffers of Diageo or Heineken time and time again. |

The craft beers are well worth the extra bit of money. They actually taste like beers should. Hoppy, slightly bitter, and wonderful. Going back to the big commercially produced beers is like drinking salted water in comparison.
Galway Hooker IPA among the best. |

Its a fad, a marketing ploy ala the emperor's new clothes!
and its been proven its a fad "
Genuinely curious, how?
The offies are full of craft stuff. A few pubs near us don't sell the particularly commercial piss water.

Most of those craft beer brewerys are owned by multinationals now..there is very little difference between craft beer and your standard piss budweiser..lots of evidence on google to support this but then again you can find anything on google to support a particular argument..to me its a clever marketing ploy making consumers believe they are buying a superior product so they can justify charging a higher price..its like charging a higher price for so called organic vegetables when the reality is these veggies are grown in the same fields are subjected to the same pesticides and conditions to that of non organic vegetables..the only difference is there presentation..they might be cleaned better and made to look superior to non organic veggies and the same principle can be applied to craft beer v commercially produced beer |

I'd say most of the craft beers brewed around Ireland would love to be owned by the multi nationals.
I have really enjoyed meeting some of the brewers of the beers in our local offie when they bring them in for promotions.
I'll keep spending my money with the crafts anyway. |

That doesn't matter to all craft beer drinkers though - I couldn't give a shit about the artisinal authenticity of the brewing process, I just like the variety and the fact that there's a way better selection of tastes and flavours out there now beyond yellow, red, and black. I love a good pint of Guinness, don't get me wrong, and I don't think craft beers are "superior" - just different, and for me different is good! |
