Lucid dreams?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

I've always been fascinated about dreams, what causes them to happen, how some people remember dreams vividly and others can't.

Lucid dreams are an especially fascinating form of dreaming. In lucid dreams, the dreamer is aware of the fact that he or she is dreaming, and often can manipulate or control the dream as it unfolds.

I generally struggle to remember any detail about dreams myself when I wake up in the mornings. I do tend to get bouts of 'day dreams' sometimes that when I'm switched off and concentration levels lower, I get a vivid picture or burst of creativity that seems to come from now where.

Do most people on here dream/ recall dreams regularly and does perving before bed increase chances of naughty dreams?

I regularly recall my dreams. Have often woken from a dream in the middle of the night and then went back to sleep for the dream to continue.

Also supplementing zma before bed also helped.

Thats fairly impressive to wake up in between recalled dreams and remember both. Some people like to write down a dream if they wake during the night.

Would be interesting if you could somehow use a method before bed to trigger a dream

Is there any practical and easy methods you have come across to instigate lucid dreaming?

I don't use any method. I've always been about to remember my dreams. I have 3 different dreams that I remember. As in the reoccurring dreams.

@Kandi there is a theory that people who are more creative than say someone who is more logical are more likely to remember dreams vividly.

Also read people who speak multiple lanagues also are more sceptible to dream recall

Oh yeah definitely I get vivid dreams like it feels like it is happening for real. Or a dream that actually does come through down the line and I am like woah this is dejavu.

@MsD dejavu is another interesting topic indeed. Are people capable of seeing a certain sceanrio in advance of it happening or are someome people just programmed to see familarity/patterns in things which when it happens looks and feels like it occured previously?

I remember most of my dreams next day, had some very vivid dreams recently about being guided out of danger or trouble by my mother, spooked me big time. Love reading up on what dreams mean.

I read if you keep doing something throughout the day. Say looking at your hand, and if you go to do it in your dream you realise something not right and you should become lucid.

It's been among time since I've done it or read about it or astral projection lol

@ExoCpl Astral projection, curious to know if you tried it and if you felt it actually worked or achieved anything. Thats creating out of body experience right? Like a meditation somewhat?

Crazy what the mind can do...

I have lucid sex dreams a lot. They're fucking great. I also have a recurring nightmare that I've had since I was 12. I have it about once a month and I still wake up crying every time. Weird.

There are few methods and exercises to help you with lucid dreams.

One way to remember dreams is to keep your eyes shut after you woke up and try to recall dreams.

I would recomend Dr. Stott Sparrow's books.

I thought dream recall was about waking up during REM. No one will ever remember a dream unless they wake from it.

As for lucid dreaming there is a thing you can buy to train you to do it, but it will disrupt your sleep for a while. It's glasses you wear, and it has monitors on it and can detect when you go into REM, when you do, it flashes a gentle light infront of your eyes. This will wake you up, but eventually it wont wake you up for a while, but after a while it will just wake you up in the dream. So you will see the lights and just be like "Oh, Im dreaming".

I lucid dream all the time but I do not do stuff like fly through the clouds or anything. I basically let the dream playout and if it gets to a part I do not like, then I rewind the dream, and for example instead of going in the blue door, now go in the green door.

I remember dreams quite well. Most of them are me in incredible landscapes, like an alien world or other dimension.

I dream about animals that don't exist, well, ones I've never seen before anyway.

I also have the lucid dreams regularly and can manipulate the dream.

I remember one dream where I got a full body tattoo and instantly regretted it.

Then I realized it was a dream and that it wasn't permanent.

As for what dreams are?

Some would say life is the real dream.
