Hi people just wondered if anyone had met any swinging oriental couples or women in Ireland? Have a particular liking for them and met a few whilst in UK , but does seem quiet on that front here in Ireland. |

Ireland ain’t as multicultural as the UK. We didn’t invade and conquer any eastern countries like our UK neighbours, resulting in fewer immigrants from those countries
No offence intended btw. "
Just a historical footnote; When the invading was going on Ireland was part of the UK and there were probably as many Irishmen as Scots and Welsh in various invading regiments or mercenary groups, or enlisted in the US Army massacring it's way across the great plains. Just sayin'
Now back to the fun sexy swinging... yes we've come across a few Asian girls married to Irish guys. Seek and thou shalt find. |

We were part of the UK as an invaded and occupied country. it was their foreign policy not ours that drove out colonization. The modern day knock on effect is clear in the attitude foreign countries have toward Ireland as distinct the UK. It is also true that countries that colonized in the past have far more immigrants from the countries they invaded.
But you’re right here is not the place for geo-political chatter |

I’ve no idea why Asian is more accessible, A group of us had to sit through a presentation about all the things we are supposed to say. People Of Colour being one of the big ones, also you can call yourself Queer as a distinct sexuality apart from homosexuality but calling someone queer is still a big nope. Also men can have periods too and you say pregnant person rather than pregnant woman. I’ll be honest, I didn’t pay a LOT of attention. |

Think there would be many guys here that have a liking for Oriental or Asian ladies. Unfortunately I haven't seen many here on the Irish scene, it's no where near as multicultural swing wise here yet, hopefully in time things will change. |

In Ireland oriental people prefer to be called far eastern or oriental as opposed to Asian . Asian people are mostly Muslims where as orientals are mainly Buddhist . There is a whole world of difference between the two . I was married to an oriental , and am stepmum to 3 chinese who dislike being called Asian . |

In the UK, I notice Asian tend to be associated with South Asian subcontinent, not necessarily moslem. Some are hindus or christians.
South East Asians sometimes are classified as orientals but some are Moslems.
Asians are very diverse..from arabs and middle eastern to the far east orientals. |

I prefer to just call them Chinese, it's easier for me I find"
Easier or just lazier on your part. Calling someone from Japan "Chinese", would be like calling an Irish person English. |

Ireland is as multiculutural as the UK, that means we expect people to ignore Irish culture and live by the one they are fleeing from, seperate themselves and live among themselves.
Ireland is not multiracial though, traditionally we didnt mix with vikings, celts, british, anyone. It makes the DNA very interesting. For example the Vikings have 40% of their dna comes from Ireland, yet next to 0% of Irish dna comes from the vikings. (they would just take Irish women, specially red headed ones).
However we are changing and becoming as multiracial as the rest of the EU, It's not rare to see women with mixed race children, and that will be mixed race grand children, great grand children and a whole new generation in Ireland of mixed race people.
We adjusted to multiculture very well, we have some of the biggest muslim centers in the world, and we seem to be adjusting to multiracial very very well too. |

I go to South East Asia,Singapore, Malasia and Japan often. The term Asian would normally be used however in the West we tend to call people from Pakistan Asian so calling someone Oriental is perfectly acceptable in my opinion |

"My ms is from the phillipines does that count as oriental lol "
According to Wikipedia yes
In British English, the term Oriental is used to refer to people from East and Southeast Asia (such as those from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mongolia and Laos). |

Same here and Mrs doesn't mind if you call her Asian or oriental even though they are totally different imo. South East Asian is more specific to Filipina, Thai etc. |
