That's the problem they shouldn't ask if they are just bottlers as this isn't fair on guys that want to go to parties. You hear every excuse from granny/family member dying, pet just got run over. Missed flights, punctures you name it. I've a spreadsheet with all the no shows from past events the list is in the 100s |

Well meet and greets there's normally a great mix of people of all types so it's really up to people to try and "pull".

That's not an attitude to have because you don't fancy any of the women going. Hard to know if you really fancy someone by their online pics and texting only when u meet in person can you tell. At least at a social or meet and great you get to see people in a social scene. |

There is usually a very wide age spectrum in my experience. 20s to 50s. M&G are socials. It's about networking and meeting like-minded for a chat for me. If you click with someone in the night then it is an opportunity for future meets or interaction |

If people are nervous I usually throw nervous newbie drinks an hour or so before the msin meet and greet so if you are nervous or put off by the idea of walking into a big room full of people you can meet a few others in the same boat and all go in together as your own little group |

If people are nervous I usually throw nervous newbie drinks an hour or so before the msin meet and greet so if you are nervous or put off by the idea of walking into a big room full of people you can meet a few others in the same boat and all go in together as your own little group good stuff. I'd attend one. I don't think they would be my cup of tea off the top of my head. Are the best attended ones usually in dub?"
I've been to great ones all over the country no tel meet and greets are the same. Even the ones I've thrown. It might sound corny but it's the people that make an event be that a private party or a meet and greet |

"I've held a party for singles there where 11 women and 20 men, that's not surprising.
It actually is surprising....tis hard to get the men to show. They usually develop stage fright
Interesting why do you think that is? Married or single?
I'm talking about single guys
A lot like the idea but don't have the bottle to turn up
Feckin losers
But seriously we had a couples profile here before and went to a few socials, I couldn't for the life of me at the time understand how single men went there at the time, it definitely takes confidence and balls course it does especially as a younger single man. Not easy to go to one of those events at all.
Trying been a single woman and attending and not known anyone at it. My first mingle I knew no one. How old were you?
What's age got to do with ita younger single man maybe 20/21 asking him to attend a meet and great would be very intimidating I would Imagine. You have alot more life experiences the older you get plus what's the general age category at meets and greets?

Just go with attitude your meeting new people and it's a night out, no expectations other than a night out. I have been to 5 and danced my socks off at each one and have made some great friends from them, unfortunately never really clicked with anyone but you won't know till you try. |

Snap
My first party - which was huge - and first m&g I went alone and it was daunting but I am so glad I did"
Your first party was indeed huge Geordie .
Yeah it takes effort as a singleton of either sex to go to a party or social alone but there are ways to help this. Meet people in advance so you can at least enter the room with others.
My first event was a party with about 70 at it. Thankfully I'd a lady friend that i arrived with. We hardly see eachother whilst there but it was great to have that for my first party nerves. I went to a social after that and was at least more able to walk into that room alone. Oh the memories |
