They are adding the 8+11=19 then adding ghe 21 from answer above giving them 40"
Ah I gotcha.... I was doing it by multiplying the 2 numbers, then adding the first number is 8 x 11 add the 8=96

Here's one for you OP, and anyone else obviously:
Two fathers and two sons sat down to eat eggs for breakfast. They ate exactly three eggs, each person had an egg. How did each person have a whole egg?
