So I borrow €50 from MissFab and €50 from _ommando4. I’ve now got €100. I pop off to Ann Summers and spend €97 on a male sex toy. I’ve got €3 change. I give €1 to Miss Fab and now owe her €49. I give €1 to _ommando4 and now owe him €49. So collectively I owe €98 plus the €1 I still have. That’s €99. Where did the other €1 go? |

If we count what you actually owe them is 49 + 49 =98 added to what you've given them 1+1=2
98+2 = 100.
There is no spare pounds.
Let's pretend that it's not money but apples. Things that you take are apples which magically turn into oranges when they're in your hands. You gave an apple back to each of them and you still owe them 49 apples. Orange that you're holding in your hand doesn't add to the whole sum |

"2-2=0
Now solve without subtraction. Hints can be given??
There is nothing to solve the equation is complete?"
No the problem is to solve without using subtraction.
Ask yourself how a computer deals with numbers and indeed everything else. |

No you are still subtracting
The solution is this when subtracting in binary you don’t actually subtract one number from another as we do in decimal. We use a technique called the 2s compliment and then add the two numbers together. May sound confusing but actually binary is far simpler than decimal as there only 2 digits to worry about ie 0 and 1. It’s just that we are thought to work from an early age in decimal (or base10). |

Here is one.
A man went to visit a person in hospital. When he left the nurse asked the patient what was the relationship was to the man. The patient answered
Brother or sister I have none but that Mans father is my fathers son |

Ok this is how it works
You change to binary ie 2 is now 0010. Then you take the number on the bottom line 2 and convert using 2s compliment which basically means start from right hand side and keep each bit the same up to and including the first “1” then invert each bit after that so a 1 becomes a zero and vice versa. So 0010 now becomes 1110. Then simply add 0010 and 1110 which equals 10000. Forget the 1 on the left hand side and your left with 0000 which equals 0 in decimal. This is how a computer does its calculations.
Might look difficult but actually very simple once you get used to thinking in terms of 1 and 0 only and why a computer can do so many calculations in a short time space. |

To clarify 'That Man' is my son. If I have no brothers and sisters then my father's son can only be me. Which means I (me) am that man's father.

I have a calculator that can display ten digits. How many different ten-digit numbers can I type using just the 0-9 keys once each, and moving from one keypress to the next using the knight’s move in chess? (In chess, the knight move in an L-shape – one square up and two across, two squares down and one across, two squares up and one across, and other like combinations) |

Let's pretend that it's not money but apples. Things that you take are apples which magically turn into oranges when they're in your hands. You gave an apple back to each of them and you still owe them 49 apples. Orange that you're holding in your hand doesn't add to the whole sum "

It’s fairly deceptive when you think of all the digits you can use but the limiter is the chess move. Basically any sequence must start or finish with 5. The answer is 4. |
