What is it with the click in the "Ireland" room. Having chatted with a few others this week and seeing it for myself, how come as Irish folk are renowned for their friendly nature & welcome, the "Ireland" room remains such a click even for us Irish members of fab. |

It makes no difference what adult site you go onto, aff, swing 4, fab, there is always a clique and you can't do anything about it, just human nature, they're in every office and workplace and school in the country. |

All the chat rooms at some point are accused have having cliques.
I wouldnt call it a clique as such, you cant help the result of what happens when so many of the members have met personally in that room, at socials for instance.
Im sure if you walked into a crowded bar and watched for a while, so many would say hello to each other yet ignore you standing at the door. Then you will see small groups of people having there own conversations with private jokes that no one else gets the jist of.
If you stand at the door and be quiet, its unlikely that you will get chatted to. Stand at the bar, get a pint and start chatting to someone, even if for a few seconds…. over time and over several visits to the bar, you will get noticed and talked to more.
Are the chat rooms any different?
Put the effort in and be patient.

I agrre with what Steve has said.
This so called clique are people that have gotten to know each other over time. Some have even meet each other wether through a social or a meet.
When most people start using chat they go into the room knowing no-one.
So unless you plod away and start talking to people it will always seem like a clique to new comers. This doesnt just apply to the Irish chatroom but to all chatrooms and even the forums.

I agree with everything that has been said above my post but I will also add there will also always be some people in chat rooms who you will NEVER get on with for many many reasons.
But then again that's true in life as well. Once you have found out who they are I am sure you will end up avoiding them and them you, unless of course they are the type that just likes to cause controversy and think being able to talk to people however they like will make them more popular, in this case you soon see who the more mature (and I don't mean in age)people in the chat rooms actually are. Just for reference they are the ones that do not take sides during any type of heated exchange.
Cliques can be born out of heated exchanges as I have seen many many times because some people are agreeing with one or the other side who are involved in the heated exchange. The more mature person are those who say nothing at all it's easy to use the alpha male/female syndrome but to stand on your own and not go with the flow and take sides I have seen can be hard for others. |

the big advantage with fab over the other sites mentioned is that the moderators generally tend to be outsiders. Maybe not great for the Mods, but when the click includes the mods in the room who boot when some outsider gets attention, the site is doomed.
I recall a girl on another site getting a ban because she was "encouraging others to direct by her actions". In other words she was getting loads of attention and the loveies didnt love her and got her out.
So clicks will always be with us. Its only if the mods are too close to them that its a problem. |

"the big advantage with fab over the other sites mentioned is that the moderators generally tend to be outsiders. Maybe not great for the Mods, but when the click includes the mods in the room who boot when some outsider gets attention, the site is doomed.
I recall a girl on another site getting a ban because she was "encouraging others to direct by her actions". In other words she was getting loads of attention and the loveies didnt love her and got her out.
So clicks will always be with us. Its only if the mods are too close to them that its a problem. "

I agree with all above as well....as in 'real life' there are people you either take to or don't for whatever reasons, but you do need to make yourself known in room and chat away. I have met very few in room but if you just join in the craic is good and, if you don't get on with someone just ignore them as I do! We all can't get on with everyone and there will always be ones that seem to be in a click but maybe they just join in more! There are some very nice people in the Ireland room!  |

Cheers folks, I agree with what your all posting and I do join in, just thought seeing as it was the subject of chat the other night that I would play devils advocate  and stick it up here.
Just seems to some a bit odd when people ignore newcomers, I know the chat moves fairly fast when busy and tis hard to read everything when your in a conversation with 2 or 3. Anyhow thanks for the replies, have fun and remember be nice to the newbies you were one of them at sometime. |

Every group has different social circles and intricacies. In fairness to new members trying to get known in the chat room. You simply have to be loud and a little brash sometimes to get other peoples attention.
For established members of fab it is also hard as you simply cant chat with everyone all the time and some people like having good chats with 2/3 rather than chit chat with 20 and its just the same boring conversation over and over.
For me personally i dont always have the time to chat and instead just pop my head in now and again to see whats going on. I would just be persistent in chatting in the room and not get too disheartened or take it personally. |

Biggest pile of pish ive never heard in a long feckin time !!
Loads of cliques in chatrooms !!
And becaus people are lovey. dovey, huggy, kissy, i love you types... doesnt mean all of us have to be !!
Us annoying, rude, hate the world, dickheads also have a place in chat rooms, that is... until we get banned for being dicks..
So, stop yer feckin moaning.. the chat rooms mods do a good job.. keep up the good work you lovely moderators
Its only a feckin chat room.. go out and take a couple of hours away from the bloody PC and get a life.
Some of you people are seriously spending way too much time in chatrooms and wasting your lives away thinking anyone in there actually gives a fook about you.. wise up !!!
