Spoke to a man lately who is divorced a number of years. Want a to get back into dating but says to me he would love to get into a relationship with a woman again but under no circumstances does he want a woman living with him full time. Can you see his point of view? Anyone here like a situation like that?

He is probably afraid they might take to cleaning the place or something like that. His issue with women is probably a timing thing

Most men live for the future, " i will bring out the bins" , " I will fill/empty the dishwasher, "I will do the laundry, or change my toothbrush"

In General most women live for the now...

ahem ..god help me

I do have a similar friend, she would like a man, but doesn't want him hanging round the house, unless he can fix things and walk the dog, even then, i think she would just like someone handy, not sure what you call them

Totally get this. I have spent a lot of years living on my own and don't think I could share a house again, but would like the companionship and regular sex that a 'relationship' could bring. Without all the other shite that goes with living together

I think he loves his own company and can leave things fucked around the house and clean it when he wants without some body nagging at him.

This 150%. Have spent over the last year sharing with people because of work and never again. Have lived on my own for last 22 yes with my son (I know technically not alone) but hated every minute of sharing a house. I like my own space, like to listen and watch what I want, just be handy to have someone around every now And than.

The times we live in have changed relationships too. I work with several guys who live in a different country to their wives and children. They moved for the job and only see their family a few times a year, or some every weekend if not so far away.

They all seem very happy with the arrangement

I honestly don't think I could live full time with anyone, used to having my own personal space on the short term I don't mind but usually after a day I'm like when tf are they leaving

I think a casual relationship with a cleaner would be ideal for most men on this post..

Getting married doesn't mean you have to live in the same house

Or on the site in general judging by the background mess in some pics

Not that I mean any disrespect to cleaners, far from it

Was dating a guy for nearly two years after my marriage break up.... And I wouldn't be rushing into living with a man again... It was very easy going relationship... We spent weekends together ... And headed off on a few holidays together... I kept my family life separate to my relationship... And it was good while it lasted...

I can really see this being a very popular option in time to come.

Imagine the housing problems then!

My parents are separated for years, both have new partner, everyone has their own flat, none of the four would want to give up their own four walls. Works well.

I totally agree with him . Wanting his own space . If they got married that would be a different story . I think I’m this day and age it’s ok to be living apart and still have a relationship.

I’m very happily married to a perv like myself but we only see each other 4 months during the year due to work, It’s been like this on and off half of the 15 years we are together. We enjoy and make the most of the months we do have together but we could as easily and have done, go back to living together full time. Everyone is different in their feeling on how a relationship should work.

Christmas day is after all, just another day, if you are happy with your own company the rest of the year, why should it be different?

I see some people making a song and dance about people staying on their own at Xmas. I'm like, why? Maybe they like it/ want it that way. Some think you have to get into a group meal or whatever.

I think it's because some make it a big deal. Pressurised into old traditions. Do what makes you happy.
