I brought this up to a non-irish friend of mine and they didnt skip a beat just saying "Yeah I prefer my own bed".
It's been going on a long time.
You are a double income, doing everything right. Both got jobs, and had one baby. You need a 2 bed house near town to make your life easier. But an investor will outbid you, because he can put 2 adults to a room upstairs, and 2 adults in the sitting room. 6 paying adults.
I'm 4th/5th generation Dubliner at least. Which means my family came from tenaments etc. It's sad to see them coming back, just because everyone in government is a land lord, and they want to erode the communities. It's basically what the Dublin volunteers were fighting against, not the brits, not the queen, but the horrible living conditions they had to endure daily. |
