Ok this probably isn't the right platform for this topic but this has to be said...
There seems to be a new trend in Aldi stores across the country...it involves checkout staff gossiping to other staff at the other end of the store while serving customers. In some cases not even making eye contact or any form on communications with the customer. I dont know about the rest of you but I find this highly disrespectful. I'm not a fan of self-service checkouts but its surely better than some ignorant cow telling her co-worker that the previous customer was having a bad hair day....rant over |

Its the height of unprofessionalism.. i work in retail and while the customer isnt always right, they definetly deserve your respect and attention. Theyre paying my wages at the end of the day, the least i can do is provide the basic service they need. |

You are 100% right i have noticed the same, and to make it worse when your hand is out to take the change and they go and put it down on the counter really puts the icing on the cake..
My rant over ... |

You are dead right..I actually had to ask the girl one day was she talking to me?? I can see why they have the head sets if they need a code for something or need a manager but they are abusing it..it's almost as bad as trying to have a conversation with someone while they are texting !! |

100% agree with you Op...
...and have to say unfortunately, it's not restricted to one particular supermarket chain as I've seen this going on in restaurants, gyms, coffee shops, etc. Staff chatting away to each other about what they drank or sniffed, chewing gum and even cursing right in front of customers. I gave out yards to one man who was walking around with a light cigarette in his own shop and I was nearly made to feel an outcast for doing so as snide comment were dished back
My take is that no matter what your job is... whether as a Janitor, fast food cashier or CEO... you turn up for work, carry yourself with class and do your job to the best of your abilities.
A no brainer you'd think but obviously some don't think
Rant over..
(Hopefully..!) |

In my old work for some bizzare reason there were a lot of girls (customers) coming in with really really weird eyebrows. Sometimes so far apart - they're across the face from each other, sometimes so bushy and dark - they would just stand out, sometimes missing all together. Me and the staff have developed a code word - if one of us would spot a funny eyebrow person we would briefly stop what we were doing and say "Oh jeez got awful messy in here, better tidy up" - all of us without the fail would look up to spot who's got the eyebrows
