So are there certain traits people show on the forums that would stop you mailing a fabber, even if you thought they were hot as fuck before hand.

I don't mean the obvious wind up merchants, just little things that bug you?

On the flip side has a fabber ever turned your head on the forums if you had initially thought they were a deffo no?

"Personality traits or personality disorders? "

I was thinking more traits, small things that might put you off... not the massive obvious lacking of the basic social skills that are apparent to everyone

People who clearly have no control over their temper and lash out at the slightest provocation - avoiding them seems like a no-brained to me.

Also people who only ever play the joker, makes me wonder why they are so afraid to let down the mask.

Sometimes guys who we wouldn't normally consider because of their youth demonstrate a level of maturity on the forums which makes them quite attractive

As some have said before. They have met people and got on well. People they thought were the opposite before meeting. Never judge a book by its cover.

Funny you mention the Joker thing. I would be concious that 90% of my contributions to threads would be throw away comments. Fab is a bit of an escape so wouldnt always feel like getting deep or usually into an argument with more substantial comments

Agreed. Often when I have gotten into deep subject matter, I end up on the Naughty Step, though some may attribute that to a lack of vocabulary on my part, whilst sometimes it's been the dreaded mix of alcohol and forums. Having said that, I've also been on the Step for humorous remarks, so it's a moving feast

If people cannot debate something without resorting to personal insults or getting angry, that reveals a lot about them also

"I see very few frightening insults on fab forums "

Its not that they are frightening.

It just takes all the possiblity for having an enlightening conversation in the thread away, therefore removes the fun. At that stage what is the point.

I honestly think the aggression is some sort of caveman self defense mechanism kicking in

Of course, it's generally triggered by low self-esteem.

I’ve had some brilliant meets from people I’ve met through the forums, where I probably wouldn’t have otherwise.

It’s easy to be cynical but I think good personalities always shine through.

I think if you are on forums long enough, not even here but also elsewhere, you will realise to not judge on a persons posts alone.

I used to play an MMO based on Lord of the Rings and we had a game mode where it was orcs vs free peoples. The forums were very very feral, people really hated other people they have never talked to beyond text.

But once you went on voice chat with them and played for the same side for a day, you realise they’re dead on people.

You have to remember some people have sour personalities and get offended over nothing. Some of the stuff that puts people off on here, I just laugh at. You will find easy going people just laugh life by and get bothered by very little.

I’m guilty of sometimes playing the joker but i don’t see what’s wrong with trying put a smile on people’s faces or make them laugh

Definitely not a mask I’m putting it’s just part of my personality

I fail to see how anyone can blame alcohol for what they write on the forums. Sounds like a cop out to me.

Possibly. There aren't too many who fit into that category though.
