How long is a piece of string?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Taking the earths curvature into account the length of the piece of string in metres is
(Theta x pie/180) x 6,371,000
Where Theta = the angle in degrees of the arc created from the centre of the earth to each end of the string |

I met a fella there this afternoon walking along the road pulling a 20m long string. I asked him why he was pulling the string behind him and he told me that he had tried pushing it in front of him but it didn't work |
