Just wondering on people's thoughts on Michael Higgins getting the public to pay for his Presidential campaign through Crowd Funding????

I think it's deadly. Gives people who actually support him an opportunity to fund his campaign and lessens the need to use the money of taxpayers who don't. V innovative. UP HIGGINS.

No issue with the crowd funding but don't understand why he refuses to participate in the tv debates. Smells of arrogance !!!

He'll still get taxpayers money as long as he gets enough votes. Is it 25% of the quota to get some of your costs back?

I have come to realise that if I had bought my house with your money I would still have my money.

He's a Champaign Socialist who wants fools to fund his campaign, only fools would give funds to these chancers running.

Go donate to your local sports clubs, they will put it to better use and certainly help society more than presidents do.

Excuse my ignorance but why do we even need a president?

Especially when it costs us so much between salary expenses security and up keep of living arrangements
