Any plumbers on the site? My hot water tank is making huge noise that’s making it very hard to sleep - sounds like it’s airlocked.... only thing to stop the sound is to run the cold water tap in the kitchen! Aah..... |

If running the kitchen cold tap makes a difference, then it’s the mains water, if it’s banging then it’s called water hammer, check the ball cock in the attic tank, it’s nearly full but not quite, that’s when u hear the noise? |

My advice. ...don't listen to the people on this trend, Blowing smoke up your arse.
And it's not water hammer by the way. Water hammer requires flow and if your in bed it is very unlikely that any of your taps ect. Are on letting the water to flow? |

That and maybe water hammer would be a symptom of a problem. The proplem would be as to why the tanks in the attic is still filling?
