As an animal lover myself that's sad to hear about Lena.Tbh I'm still hurting after my 14 year old Bassett Hound died last January. Have a picture of him on my mantle piece.Even though since I've homed 2 rescue dogs I still miss 'Harry' so much, but that's another thread I guess..xx |

Having been a very recent visitor to Dublin Zoo, this is particularly sad and I must look back through my pics to remind myself of her.
To the poster who doesn't like zoo's, I have to say, you might need to visit Dublin Zoo again. What they have provided for some of the animals is fantastic.
Having said that, others are still on quite confined spaces, so not ideal and I understand hour feelings towards them, in that respect. |

As above, there was a time when visiting Dublin zoo, for an animal lover, was like visiting an an abattoir....however, zoologists the world over, including Dublin zoo should be commended for the millions/billions that have been invested in the conservation and research of such species and though it may look as though certain species are confined, as they may well be until new habitats are constructed... They should count themselves lucky they're not ashtrays or umbrella stands.....35 year old gorilla??? Jesus, there are some humans that shouldn't even reach that age lol |
