Fair play. It's a difficult thing to start. There's always that voice saying, "I'll start Monday." Then Monday comes and it's, "I'll start tomorrow." And before you know it it's Monday again and you're up a pound or two.
I put on about two and a half stone over a two year period up until May this year.
I'm down a stone and a half now but have been stuck on the same weight for the last month and a half.
I just can't seem to shift it lately but I've read about weight plateau so I need to keep doing what I'm doing and not get discouraged.
Do you have a target you're aiming for? |

This is the first time I've not find it hard... mostly because I'm still eating things I like... but just counting calories. So one frozen pizza might be 600 calories but the one I was buying was 1800 calories... or before if I wanted to eat chocolate I drive to the shop... now I still go but I walk and buy a curly wurly because it is only 118 calories. |

Ha I hear that. I could never give up pizza and chocolate so I've just become more aware of how much I'm consuming.
Ever hear of intermittent fasting?
I try to do it most days and when I do a consistent run of it, say for a week or two I find the pounds drop off.
Only problem with it is you wouldn't believe how difficult it is to get 1800 - 2000 calories into you in just an 8 hour period. |

I've heard of it but just don't feel the need to do it... if you eat the right things I find it easy to stay under 2500 calories. It is just being aware of it. |

I was just googling intermittent fasting this morning, I'm down 5 stone and have hit a brick wall I think was thinking of giving it a try... Is there rules to it or basically just not eating for a long period of time?
Well done op |

Absolutely brilliant, fair play!
I dropped five myself and then put on almost a stone off work with an injury. I've gotten half that off but it really seems more difficult than before.
Hope you reach your target soon! |

I was researching that topic to.
Some ppl fasting once a month for 1 to 3 day's, some once a week for one day. And the rule is when you have a fasting day you shouldn't eat at all.
Some ppl doing one day fasting with 200-300 calorie in take, next day eat as normal.
I never done fasting my self, i like food to much, just trying to avoid rubbish food.
I start my journey around year ago, i lost so far 25 kg no idea how much stone's it is but another few to go. |

Just approaching 3 stone off, but more importantly all my health checks came back perfect which was the main goal.
I try do intermittent fasting as it fits into my work schedule better, so try to eat healthy from 1000-1800 then fast the other 16 hours so far it seams to be working.
Now I just need to get my lazy ass to the gym more to start toning up abit |

Yeah it's basically not eating for a longer period than you are eating.
For example most days I'll only eat within an 8 hour period, usually 12 noon to 8pm. But it's recommended if you start doing it to eat within a 10 hour period and then move on to 8.
Some people eat regularly 5 days a week and do two 24 hour fasts the other 2 days, like maybe one 24 hour fast on a Monday and the other on a Thursday.
The thing with the 24 hour fast is that you can start at 5pm and eat again at 5pm the next day so you are eating every day but still getting a 24 hour fast period.
I done this years ago but find the 8 hour eating a day works better for me. |

"I just don't see why I would limit when I can eat...I have been able to lose nearly 6 stone eating when I want... it is all about calories..."
That's why it doesn't work for everyone.
If it's a case where intermittent fasting feels like restriction then it's not for you.
I don't like eating first thing in the morning and late into the night so it suits me.
I'm ready for food around noon and by 8 or 9 at night I have no interest so it feels natural for me to only eat within an 8 hour period.
I'm not trying to take away from your incredible achievement. What you're doing is clearly working for you and congratulations on your weight loss. |
