meet up function , is it a waste of time ???

Just want to get some feedback on this option on fab "meet up" if looking for a meet and have it displayed on your profile for a specific date or a meet today , is it a waste of time now as gone are the days of people just wanting to meet purely for play fun, seems its more geared towards social events now.

Its just someting ive seen happen over the years when i first started out when it was a dial up internet connection

I wouldnt go as far as calling fab here a dating site.its the furthest thing from it but yes safety is important
