Done except 800's turned into 10 × 400's probably done very poorly as speed work in running is only new to me. I done a short hill the nice easy half hour swim . What a morning for it, hopefully tomorrow will be the same.

Go for it, I jumped on the threadmill until I got comfortable in the gym and then I branched out after watching others use all the machines.

I kind of like running alone, pop the headphones in and block out the world for a while

Im starting to head the same way, I'm doing much similar training (long run, splits, hills, repeat) so I'm going to head to the gym for the winter, I'll still run but going to put on some upper body wight,I'm pretty light at the moment

A discussion i had with a fellow running buddy. When getting back into it you need to stop focusing on what you could do and focus on what you are doing. Your 1st run is your baseline.... your gains are from there. Just set run days and stick to them. Welcome back

No .. lol

A good running shop will put you on a track and test hiw your foot falls. It determins the best tyoe of runners for you to wear. They will correct your foot and help to prevent injury

Had a good week of running, various training types finished off with a tough 10k race yesterday.

Start of a new week tomorrow (I need to do more hills, struggling with them)

Really and they do this by looking at you running on a treadmill from behind!!!!

My advice find a pair of shoes that are comfortable on your feet.

Something that is suitable for the type of running your doing ie trail or roads etc. Let's face it the all pretty much so the same thing. I wear a shoe made by ON. Can't buy them in the shops over here and they are expensive.

Walk to and from work, walk on lunch on the days I don’t run.

My step is about a meter so 14000 steps should be 14km right? I get ya, sometimes it's the life's extras that are more demanding than running and walking! Im in delivery and I walk at least 10km six days a week and would run 5km three to four times a week, I wear out my running shoes about every 3 months!

If anyone in cork is looking to do a run tonight, there's a 5km race in Mayfield, it's for a very good cause, young lad that broke his neck in the snow, it will be very busy, I'd say over 500 will show up, so if you're free why not do it (run or walk), plenty of food and drinks afterwards too!!

"Nice local race tonight, 5km, did it in about 23 mins, there wasn't a flat bit to the whole race, it was either up or down steep hills but I guess it was the Northside of cork, the whole place is one giant hill!!

Well done you ... great time "

Why thank you m'lady, best of luck for Sunday, you'll slot straight back into it and you'll be thinking why you ever stopped!

First run done in over 8 months. Injury, work etc were useful excuses but I decided to pull my finger out of my hole and get back in it!

Nice, slow, easy 3K. Soak in the bath, some stretches and a walk later to prevent the ole body from seizing up!

"Run done and nice not to get soaked

Really

Yeah I prefer warm weather running, I think I was born in the wrong country

Oh no i like it cool not raining but i like a cold dry day. The heat kills me ."

I'm hoping to get a run done while down in Cork next week so no doubt it will be raining then

"Keep it up"... You're very naughty!!!

Yep, trying to get back the zest for running that I used to have many years ago but now it's more for the sanity and relaxation of having some dedicated me time out on the trails.
