Well now I always find the great things about sites like this is the block button for the "hard of learning".
Imagine if in real life, in work for instance, if you had a block button?

I know the topic is a little tongue in cheek but surely the vetting is down to each individual user.
Admin give everyone the tools to block people or to stop certain groups from messaging you.
Set your filters to verified/pic verified/with pics. That will cut down most of the fakers. In theory, the remainder will ge genuine enough to accept an early phone call is paramount.
Virtually all mail we get from unverified profiles gets a reply along the lines of 'thanks but mail back when your at least pic verified'. Funny how many never get verified (we add to hotlist for a while to check).
Just have to use your instincts... Or improve them.

good post there SteveandJ, don't understand why people moan about these things when its very easy to filter the type of contact you don't want on here.
Then again some people will complain no matter how easy things are made for them. |
