Anyone got a tattoo or tattoos over the years that they look back at and think, "How the fuck did I think this was a good idea?"
Also, what are the worst tattoos you've seen on others?
One I got: In the summer of 2000 I was 19, listening to nothing but Roots Reggae and Dub Reggae and smoking copious amounts of cannabis.
I came to the mad conclusion that the best way to express myself at that moment was to get a red, gold and green cannabis leaf tattooed on my chest
I think it was only about 6 months before I had it covered over.
I still cringe when I think of it
One I saw: I was at a Chemical Brothers gig around 1999/2000 and there was a guy with a Mitsubishi sign tattooed the whole length and width of his back
For those who may not be aware, Mitsubishi's were an ecstasy pill doing the rounds at that time. |

"Saw a woman recently with a rather big tattoo on the neck, covering the throat area, it looked horrendous.
Perhaps she was trying to cover a scar from previous surgery"
Perhaps, you don't have to find an excuse for it. |

Many think they're great at the time for whatever reason but Ive come across a lot who regret later on in life for various reasons. Not something I'm into or would consider having. |

I wouldn't approach the person and tell that it looks awful but i'm entitle to have an opinion about it. |

I like to think my own tattoos are tasteful but I have been asked to do some horrendous pieces over the years. I was once ask to do a lower back piece which read “emergency exit only” with an arrow pointing down. Very classy. |

I love all my tattoos thank god because I did have some super ideas during my teens ... A playboy bunny on my boob, a Liverpool crest on my arm or a fighting Irish tattoo thank god my parents didn't let me get one until I was 18. So now I have 4 small ones and I want more |

I woke up with more then a hangover when in the Navy in Singapore, wondered why the mess crewmates were laughing.Seem had a tattoo on my arse,a couple of days later it turned bad an had to go into hospital. Had a great Naval doctor treat it an removed the bloody thing, never did workout what it was meant to be,I think it was a toad but not sure. |

I love tattoos, but there are some horrendous ones. Art is subjective, I get that, But no excuse for mis spelling in tattoos.
" no ragrets"
" never don't give up" and
" it's get better" are some of the best....... I mean worst I've seen. |

Or the Chinese symbols that mean something totally different from what was intended |

Find very tasteful tattoos on men quite a turn on but not so much on women. I think we are meant to be delicate creatures
There are exceptions of course where they were very skillfully chosen and applied. |

A mate of mine got a dolphin tattoo when he was stoned back in the 90s the full length of his upper arm the slagging he got was unreal he ended up having to get a monstrosity of a tribal tattoo to cover it |

I only regret one of mine.and although it's probably my worst tattoo, that's not why I regret it. I only regret the position of it because it uses up space I could have used for a huge piece down the line.
No point regretting them them.
And it's not like anyone dies at 80 with sexy perfect skin anyway so they typical argument of "wait till your x years old and its all wrinkles and....whatever" is pathetic. Live your life and enjoy what you enjoy before it's too late and you're dead. |

Agree. I haven't got a tattoo in 16 years as I lost interest in them. If I didn't have any now I probably would never have one but the ones I have are reminders of particular moments in my life and they don't bother me at all. They're no more relevant to me now than the permanent scar on my leg due to a bad burn when I was 22. They're just part of my body's journey through this life. |
