James bond is based off the books it's not a 100 percent accurate representation. I think he'll make a great Bond |

But James Bond is just a code name and so is 007. That's why there's been one since the 60s. So technically it can be anyone as long as they are in mi6.
But yes I agree with the being to pc too many people get offended over little things. |

PC..........you can't even sing ba ba black sheep anymore and when you say we should be looking after our own first and help those that need it in their own country's your called a racist by fuckwits....the type that go traveling through known Islamist country's to prove theirs no bad people ( the PC term  ) in the world and then end up dead by those people they refuse to admit exist...ok rant over... |

Yes it is racist, but not so long ago it was acceptable and you'd be told if it offended you you were being too sensitive or whatever.

I think while we focus on james bond and signs we really are missing the reality of the post. We live in a world where we are judged in every aspect of our lives. Your expected to conform, behave, parent a certain way. If you step outside the norm eyes are on you. Our governments have us wrapped in bubble wrap.... we're nannied to withen an inch of our lives. There's little respect for opinions that differ to the expected.
I do not tolerate racisim or intolerance in my life, does this mean everyones the same ... i doubt it.
Take here for example we're judged constantly .... on your photos, on your profile and on your veris. In a world thats supposed to celabrate sex and a freedom to have multiple partners you can publicly be called a bike ... slut shamed and its ok ???
I think we focus on the wrong things. Instead of worrying if james bond is black maybe just respect other people and their choices even the ones you dont agree with. |

I have to say that I don't believe we're living in a nanny state. I believe that certain media outlets like to give the impression that it's the case as the outrage generated drives their sales. Pretty much all the offending issues are ill defined and anecdotal as in "they won't let us say this" or "they won't let us do that". There certainly are things that you can't do now that you could do forty years ago but thankfully that's the case. A lot of the stuff complained about has no basis in fact.
The movie industry discussing the possibility of a black James Bond is very different to the notion of it somehow being almost compulsory as a result of political correctness.

LOL. I’d like to know this too.
There is an article on BBC about the complaint that was made by a white council inspector saying Ba Ba Black Sheep is a negative statement.
Turns out black parents called the complaint complete madness, and how it’s not offensive to black people. It was investigated and was then scrapped because its of course ridiculous to think a children’s nursery rhyme is offensive.
The “We can’t even sing Ba Ba Black Sheep” comment comes up a lot when it comes to talking about bein politically correct, and when I alert people of the fact the complaint was made by a white man, and it was black people who called the complaint ridiculous... they’re suddenly shocked! Haha.
We are certainly far too PC, too many people desperately want to be offended by things that aren’t always offensive and want to try and hold people accountable for their fragile feelings. |

I dont think its anything new "please wont somebody think of the children" its just these extreme views have more of an oulet now through online forums, facebook pages etc.... and the over reaction of a small few to silly/innocent comments or actions colours the actual good that has come from our society becoming more open and untegrated and sensitive to different individuals and groups.
As above posters have said I dont see thos really impacting day to day life in meaningful way, unless you go looking for reasons to be outraged |
