Hope everyone is well is evening. I'd like to ask for some advice. I reported a user to admin some time ago for distributing images that had been sent to her privately and in confidence by other users on this site. This individual sent several of these to me without my asking. The content included face pics and xxx-rated content with faces clearly visible. Two of the individuals in the photos were recognisable to me.
Admin regrettably did nothing.
The same individual continued to do this. Again I reported her. Again nothing.
This evening, I tried to contact the site owners, only to receive an automated reply directing me to the site FAQ. The message I sent read as follows, with the username in question blanked out:
"I have previously attempted to report a user (username blanked out) but nothing has been done about it. This user has repeatedly sent me multiple private images of other users without their consent. To be clear, I did not at any stage request these images, and on receiving them I specifically stated to the aforementioned user that what she was doing was wrong.
This represents a data breach and a serious violation of privacy. I have firm evidence of this, and have saved my whatsapp conversations with the aforementioned user as a matter of record.
I realise that the site does not have control over images exchanged on whatsapp. However, the majority of the users images that were sent voluntarily to me without their consent were images taken directly from this website. Unlike whatsapp photos, this is something the website shares responsibility for. There are two reasons for this. The first is that the website has been urged by its users on multiple occasions to install a mechanism whereby users are unable to save or download watermarked images. The second is that this users behaviour has been reported to you, and you have done nothing about it.
I would appreciate a non-automated response"
I can appreciate that the rules of common sense with regard to sending photos apply, but realistically if people don't exchange photos, they don't meet. If this sort of thing happens without consequence, fewer and fewer will be prepared to send a photo in future. While some people won't care if their private photos get forwarded on without their knowledge (and fair enough), a lot will.
Not unexpectedly, when I confronted this user about this today, I was blocked and a status went up on her profile about her being hassled by a guy who "wasn't getting what he wanted".
This really is a matter of concern. If the site gets shut down because of a GDPR issue or a lawsuit, as unfortunate as that might be, it has only itself to blame.
The bottom line is that regardless of whether or not people here get on with each other, or like each other, or meet up with each other, privacy needs to be respected.
I'd appreciate your advice on how to contact the site admin directly, rather than via an automated system, given that the latter is clearly not working in this case. |

Unfortunately there is little that can be done to stop people taking a photo from here and sending onto others on here or any other social media platform. It’s fairly easy to set up an email address in two minutes and have a profile on here two minutes later and with very little checks, if any. You see profiles here from new members saying only mail with a clear face pic and the user has little or no info on their profile. The majority of the admin on here are just members helping out on pics and the forum. You’ll have to do some detective work on google and companies house in the UK to get to the main management of the site. The person doing it obviously is trying to stir up trouble for the members who’s photos they sent you. No doubt a spurned bunny boiler or a man pretending to be a woman with a score to settle. |

On the contrary, she is a real person. Met her socially last month, came away reasonably reassured that she was genuine, we agreed a meet and then she had a self-admitted panic/meltdown the day of and no-showed. Did the same for a few others. Everyone is entitled to get second thoughts obviously, and if anything it's better for a girl to pull out if she's unsure rather than be uncomfortable (as awful as it is for the guy).
A real person, and one that a lot of people have sent a lot of pics to, at her request. |

What is the username of the person? Could you mail me it? I got stood up a few weeks ago by a girl in Dublin and I sent pics to her. Hope she didn't share my pics.... |

Indeed it is, hence my attempt to contact the owners/admins to give them a chance to rectify matters before it becomes a legal thing for someone (which I suspect it might) and the site gets put in jeopardy. |

"Looking at that thread there's only a handful of women it could be
OP has said already that it isn't any of women on that thread though"
My bad. The background for the comments here and the faceless profiles make me miss things for some reason. I always seem to read things wrong here or miss things completely |

No need to apologise, it can be difficult trying to keep up with fast moving threads |

Op, did you tell those in the pics about it? They need to report her also. Tell all your trustworthy friends too. The more that report maybe then Mods can take action. |

I did let the two I recognised know tonight, both were really upset as you can imagine. |

Yes, socially. Didn't verify her as I don't generally verify social meets (no particular reason, just that I generally don't meet unverified people so it's not like either of us need one). As I said above, she seemed legit enough at the time, but turned out to be a spoofer in the end. as some people alluded to earlier, this is something you see sometimes with guys posing as girls or couples, but this is a girl.

Unfortunately once u post a pic on the internet u loose control of it and posting the name of the profile that's passing on the pics will only lead to her deleting and starting again. Posting this thread may have the best effect in making people aware that sending easily identifiable pics to others can have consequences
Never send pics to someone u don't trust enough to treat ur privacy the same as their own at least |
