Probably a bit late to be asking and it's just out of curiosity because I only heard about the working family payment (used to be FIS) today. I've no kids or wife but just say there's a married couple with three kids and the woman is working in a low paid job and they guy is at home besides the WFP topping them up is there any other income coming to them bar the child benefit? I feel like there's lads in work struggling and probably don't know about these things either but actually have kids.

Depends on the individual case - if there's a health reason causing the unemployment, there may be illness-related benefits eligibility.

The citizens advice centre could check over the household's circumstances and advise if claims should be made for additional assistance.

I mean they're staying at home as a choice. I think most of the lads in work have wives staying at home to look after the kids.
