Ah sure now...

'A good player is a good player and a great player is a great player...and that's the difference between a good player and a great player'

The man is class!

He's a parody. Woeful pundit. Good riddance to him.

Loughlinstown

"Michel Platini has no bottle. He is not a great player"

(European Footballer Of The Year 1983, 1984, 1985)

“Ronaldo is a disgrace to the game. His petulance, temperament, throwing himself on the ground. It was a disgrace to professional football. This fella Ronaldo is a cod.”

Every sport needs "Heroes & Villains" and Dunphy was the ultimate panto villian who made us boo, hiss and one or two of us cry...

Thanks for the memories Eamo!

Personally, glad to see the back of him. There are some great pundits out There....... He ain't one of them. Like a certain ex forrest, man Utd, celtic and Ireland midfielder who's name I'm not Keane on mentioning, he was just controversial for the sake of being controversial. Would go against his own beliefs just to disagree with everyone.

Bring back Johnny Giles

They have to be entertaining. Duff, Sadlier, Cunningham and the rest are not as enjoyable as Dunphy , Giles and Brady. RTE are worse off now in my opinion. The likes of Dunphy gave people something to talk about even if it verged on the ridiculousness at times.

Love him or loath him he had a personality and wasn't afraid to say what he thought. Whether you agreed with him doesn't matter. There were some epic battles with himself Giles and Brady.....i thinknthey ised to call that entertainment and analysis.

What we will get now is dull formulaic analysis like they have on the British and American channels.

NaughtyVille *×* Laois

Bill O'Herlihy brought out the very best of Dunphy.

The new pundits bring no sense of fun/drama.

Yes he was clown at times but everyone loves a circus.

A loss not yet replaced I would say
