I love lying out in the sun, or swimming nude. It feels so liberating. I know there are laws prohibiting this, I think it's considered ' obscene'. There was a guy in the Midlands arrested and found guilty a few days ago, in court, for nude sunbathing , on the hottest day of the year. I sometimes despair for Ireland. Just when you think we're becoming more liberal. What do you think? |

Love nude sunbathing and swimming unless very private beach I confine the nude sunbathing to my back garden...silly he was arrested should have been asked to cover up...if there's kids around it's not on |

Ireland is light years away when it comes to nudity.
One can walk starkers down the street to the beach in Vera playa in Almeria

Picture what you have just said.
Now picture the same scenario with a typical bunch of locals from Ballydehob in a typical Irish summer of 13C, slight farmer tans and not a clue of how to trim a bush.

Is there more to the story of the guy that was arrested than just being nude?
I'm not a legal eagle but my very limited knowledge of the matter is that simply being nude is not an offence in itself unless by being nude the person intends "to cause fear, distress or alarm to another person" |
