You're probably better off ringing the revenue themselves at least you'll know the person you are talking to actually works there

Revenue should not be messed with...you could get it up the hole even if you're not looking for it

If it's just general advise you might as well ask an account. If you're on the brink of trouble with them, get in touch with them ASAP like others said. Once they see you're trying to deal with the problem, then they are quite approachable.
