I don'the usual but if i think I am gonna have problems if stressed or worried about something I use guided meditation. It is very good bit takes a while go get used to it . Just shove in the early phones Google it and off you go sleep in 5-10 mins depending.

Tullamore

Used to have bad sleep issues due to work at the time.

Came across a short book called

"Peaceful Sleep" by Jan Sadler

Great book full of mind exercises and visualisation.

It might help, it certainly helped me.

Use the yoga breathing technique to keep calm or go too sleep

Breathe in slowly for four count

Hold slowly for four count

Breathe out slowly for four count

And hold with relaxed empty lungs for four count

You have to clear your mind and only think of the 1,2,3,4

I can't stress that enough

C'est moi Boudoir

Breathing relaxation combined with lavender drops on my pillow or I use an oil burner. If I am struggling to relax into the breathing I pick a bland topic like naming 5 red flowers then 5 blue etc... while doing the breathing technique.

Cut out stimulant based drinks after 6 o clock op just water in the evening time.

Thanks for all the advice people, i might try out a few and see how it goes. I knew having a tug would be mentioned so i should of ticked that off the list for ye in the opening message .

Alot of my sleep troubles is a thing called costochondritis, its an infection in the muscle joining my ribs yo my sternum. Get a good bit of chest pain with it and always leads me to over thinking and thinking the worst.

Has anyone here ever had costochondritis?

The key thing in my opinion is to relax and try to shut off the mind. You can use any of the methods suggested but I tend to listen to an audiobook or podcast. Also don't lie in bed for hours tossing and turning get up do somthing for a while then go back to bed.

I can definitely recommend guided meditations for sleep, some really good ones on YouTube. Hope that you can get some more restful sleep, it's a curse when one can't sleep well.
