Happy birthday John, hope u have a great one. I was 50 their in may myself, had a nice one too, went too Bulgaria & Austria. And surprise part from my family, and then came back too more sun, happy days, did u do anything mad for yours. Join the 50's club  |

Thanks everyone, lovely ego boost for the day
I'm taking myself and my zimmerframe off to a nice beach somewhere for the afternoon and probably out for dinner and dirty black pints for the evening, as the party will be Saturday.
Lessons learned? I'm still a kid at heart, with a relatively positive attitude so it's meant I have not worried about consequences as much as you're supposed to. It's meant I've done more than some, in relation to travel, working and living it up.
At this stage, I haven't paid a high price for doing so but perhaps those chickens will come home to roost at some point.
So basically, take the chance, get over your nervousness and do the things that you are dreaming about. Travel far and wide, change job/career if you are finding something else more interesting than what you are doing right now. You'll be a lot happier having done so, even if it doesn't work out, as you can at least say that you tried.
That's enough sage and sober advice from me for now.
Time to start the next stage
