Let’s just say I’m on first name terms with a specialist Doctor in Ranelagh.

Absolutely.

No symptoms doesn't mean no STI. Anyone active in the lifestyle should be tested at least annually.

Some do when the subject is raised, some do regularly as DH has said, some just think about it and others do when they suddenly have to.

Any responsible person will get checked regularly if they play regularly with others or even just one other who plays with others.

93% of irish adults that have had sex carry HPV and it can go undetected for years. Virus does not show up in Pap tests if it’s dormant and there’s no actual test for men

Kilkenny, but Dublin is more fun

Definitely do it as regular as possible and to be safe in what you do. No point putting it off for it only to get more serious or risk passing it on.

As above. Usually twice a year but if I'm very lucky I'll go more often. Have had the Hep B vaccine also.

It's amazed me the amount of people I've met on this site who think that because they use condoms they don't need to get tested

Definitely. Sure with a condom or even just having oral meets, the risks are lower but that doesn't mean they're not there. Always pays to be cautious, and have the vaccinations done as well.

"regular testing is compulsory in the lifestyle "

It should be! But unfortunately not that many are getting tested at all!

We were just looking to post the thread about it...

We are not hard core players, rather very selective and swing occasionally, yet we test ourselves on regular basis.

It's better to be safe than sorry especially considering we never practice protected oral sex.

I wonder how many couples in lifestyle do the same? And if not, why not? Are you embarassed to get tested? You don't know where to get tested? Or is it too expensive?

Used to be tested once a year... has since changed to every 6 months about 3 year ago.... 6 months would be my usual.... however if I'm especially "active" or if I'm attending an event (werein there will be lots of play with different people) I tend to get tested before and after the event. Might be overkill sure but it's my preference.

Charter Medical in Smithfield are very good.

(Free and clear as of two weeks ago btw!)

A doctor that specializes in sexual health. Given the tread I thought that would be clear to all. Should i break out the crayons and do a doodle?
