Should it not be about rehabilitation, obviously we don't want convicted criminals given an easy ride, but would the money for sky sports packages be better spend on educating and teaching prisoners with new skills to help them not reoffend when they are released.
In the UK they've recently given tax breaks for companies who hire ex cons.

Yes of course there should be a rehabilitation aspect to it but I for one think it should be a place that you REALLY dont want to be doing back to, not a place with the perks of 4* hotel regardless of the loss of freedom you suffer |

Like everything in the civil service it has to go for tender so it quite possibly could be that the cheapest tv package that the prisons got included sky sports.would you be happier had they payed twice as much for just tg4?? And it’s about here you say they shouldn’t have tv they are in jail.people in jail are citizens of Ireland too and for mental health reasons especially suicide,having a tv in a cell reduces suicide and helps dramatically with mental health issues. |
