To fake tan or not to fake tan?

I have typical Irish skin and am no good at applying fake tan. So what's better? Smooth soft but white skin or streaky patchy fake tan? Opinions please.

Never understood fake tan, you're basically making yourself dirty! Although blue Irish skin is a bit of a turn off!

Everyones skin is different its trial and error which will suit your skin better. Even the gradual tans can give a light colour and moisturise your skin too. Im a huge fan of cocoa brown. But loads on market. Get a good tanning mitt not the cheap ones and practice lol

You can get nice subtle tanning creams/sprays now.

If it makes you feel good. Do it....

Fake tan is a big turn off to be honest, looks awful no matter how well done, n nothing beats a bit of casper role play

It's a personal choice at the end of the day. For some it's a confidence booster, for others it's about evening out their skin tone, for some it's a trend but whatever the reason it's a choice that they make. I love that it disciplines my skin routine.

I dye my hair because I like it red and I went grey in my early thirties and not the nice shade of grey. I wear makeup, not a huge amount but enough to enhance my natural features. I also groom my body hair which isn't as nature intended but hey ho I do. To those that don't like it, that's ok. To those that do, keep doing it.

Everybody takes care of themselves in different ways to enhance their appearance and to make themselves feel better about themselves.

Tanning has come a long way from carrot shaded streak's and is a damn site more healthy than the sunbed. I think pale skin is beautiful but I prefer mine with a hint of colour which I can't obtain naturally just like my hair colour. As they say here regularly, Each to their own.

(No skin cells were harmed in the making of this tan)

Research shows that eating a lot of carrots can give your skin a "tan".

When tested, Fake tan applied, Tan from sun, or tan from eating carrots.

The tan from eating carrots was voted the best looking. The chemical that gives you the tan is also present in tomoatos etc too.

The difference is mainly the glow comes from within your skin, compared to your skin painted another colour.

People in Italy have diet high in tomato, and get out in the sun, so they get the double whammy.

I tried a carrot diet to get ripped the other year. Bought big bags of carrots and every time I got peckish I ate one. Not many calories in them and filling. I ended up in really good shape with a great tan that summer. However its fairly boring eating so many carrots.

Thats didn't work for me. I went through a faze of eating raw carrots daily for weeks and weeks to cut junk food snacks down gradually. Although I'm basically never ever out in the sun haha

I’ve no choice but to be pale and interesting...

Being a natural redhead I’ve no ability to tan naturally and being allergic to false tan I can’t wear that either...

embrace who you are.

If it makes you happy to get a spray tan, do it..

(I wouldnt advise sun beds to anyone)

Dunboyne & Dublin

Stick on factor 50 and get out in this weather. You'll go from blue/stark white to almost normal, possibly light tan and feel brilliant for it.

Couple of friends just came back from Canaries fortnight and I've a better than than them! Sickened

gosh , i recognize i am

blessed on this matter , even if only staying in the shadows my skin darkens in summer even if it is fully covered by cloth

I believe that whatever suits the bearer of the skin to feel comfortable is legitimate and a well applied spray tan can be beautiful , for the same I adore the pale skin of Irish lassies, ideally with some freckles spread all over the body...cute. of course artificial tan beauty comes at the price of stains when it gets sweaty in the sheets, but hey , there is Persil to take care of it.
