I so upset and very very angry at how this and last government have and are treating women. I am ashamed of myself for voting fg last time. I am pledging to all women never to vote fg or ff again and I am calling on every person who thinks the same as me to pledge the same and to spread it on all social media. I feel the treatment of all Irish women either this cervical screening and the cover up is the last straw for me |

People can blame the government all day long, I will ask this question, when have ever had accountability for actions in this country?
I can state lots of scandal that had happen and no senior or ordinary staff member lost their job, I am sorry but I work in a private sector where accountability is adamant and even the politicians should be made accountable but they are not.

This country is a disgrace, there's no accountability and punishments are laughable. Government officials when they embroiled in huge scandals are told to retire and take their pension when they should be jailed or they just leave their sector and stay quiet for awhile then are elected again and appointed in another sector. Same with the bankers that time. We done nothing but the real blame is on the Irish people. Especially the middle class. They're too comfortable to go out of their way to demand things are done right. I do nothing about anything to be honest so I can't talk but I like to disassociate myself from the middle class and politics in general. Doesn't matter who you vote for. They're all corruptible. |

I’m so angry about this at the moment that I can barely speak about it. They talk at these hearings about waiting for enquirees and audits to be back. They seem to forget that these women are DYING!!!! They don’t have time to wait. It’s the same all over this bloody country. No out of ours cath lab in Waterford anymore. Which is a regional hospital for all the surrounding counties. They are killing people to save money. It sickens me. If any of us did it. We’d be in prison.
Sorry for ranting. x |

The whole lot of them are the same promise you this that and the other once they get power it’s middle finger up to joe public and they just read from the idiots guide on how to run a country.
I’d like to see sin fein get a chance as they seem to be the only party for the people.
They say we are out of the recession I don’t think we are look at how bad we are the homeless crisis is at an all time high, the hospitals are a bloody joke.!! I wish we could have a merry green isle with good honest politicians like the ones who fought and died for us.

We don't really do accountability here, look at all the scandals be it health or banks or sport, you name it, yet not an ounce of accountability, we are either very forgiving or very stupid I tend to go with the latter. What a horrific situation to be left in, waiting to die and leaving devastation behind and all to save a few euros |

"Problem is FG are the least worst of all of them. "
A few I'd often have myself and I think they only came into government halfway through 2011 but open to correction on that.
I do think that it may be time to give SF and a few others a chance to form a coalition (without FF/FG) just to see if they actually put their (our) money where their mouths have been for so long.
Regardless, witholding such information, for so long, without recourse/redress, is despicable. The decisions without liability is also something that grinds my gears. They're prepared to pay X amount but not admit culpability? They should be feckin hanged for this one! They've condemned some people to die as a result of their incompetence and in my book, that's Manslaughter, at the least.
As others have said, accountability is a long way from the current status of this country. |

Welcome to Ireland.
The only place, north and south, where we vote fuckwits into power come what may.
Bottom line people, you voted them in. They fuck about, and you continue to vote them in.
Harsh, but regretfully true. |

Thankfully one voice doesn't speak for all. My last ballot paper was much more mixed than previously. I'm sure a lot more will be the next time. Unfortunately it takes time for the masses to see the light but it breaks through to the retinas eventually. |

Shameful that if Vicky Phelan had taking the pay off and signed the NDA then we would know none of this. Brave woman.
It looks like all the scandals are children and women related. Where are all the male scandals? |

Firstly, not as many men get checked. I know! Judging by some of the forum threads, you'd think there'd be a line of us looking for a finger up the back or a good massage feel but we're actually shy and retiring
I do not mean to make light of the current situation but your comment does make me wonder if there might also be a male equivalent PSA scandal waiting to happen.
Having worked in the IT area for many years, I've seen the lack of quality control and accountability that goes with outsourcing. Unfortunately I can't see a viable option to prevent it, until customers demand local support, in every area of all services industries. Yes folks, your health professionals are a part of a service industry, as is practically any goods/service you pay for, directly/indirectly. |

What has happened to Irish women since the foundation of the state is nothing short of a disgrace. From the Tuam babies to this new scandal we as a nation should be ashamed of the treatment. This effect us all - as they are our mothers, grandmother, sisters, girlfriends, wifes etc.
The HSE is a basket case. I think many would agree on that. By putting SF or Labour or any other party into power will not fix this problem. What needs to happen is an audit is carried out of the HSE to establish the problems and where the billions are being spent. The second part is to streamline the organisation so instead of 40% of the expenditure going on administration staff 90% is spent on professionals/medical staff. To achieve something like this we need a permanent civil service that along with an elected TD make decision. These civil servants will not be voted as part of a popularity contest instead they are hand picked. Tough decision need to be taken - which will not happen with an elected government.
As for Sinn Fein - people need to get real. Links are still to the IRA and secrets are still been kept. If we elect these in we are no better than the Americans and Trump |

All the things that have happened to the women in this state have happened under FG or FF governments. They also sold us to europe. We are all in massive debt thanks to them and keeping bondholders happy.
13 billion owed from Apple and the government are fighting the courts so Apple don't have to pay it.
Do you think SF are gonna bring in the right to bear arms and recruit new members for the IRA? Pull your head out of the sand and realise SF are not the problem her. I vote FG last time around. Never again. Ill either never vote or ill vote SF. |

Do you know the policy of SF? To tax high and spend big. Thats what they are purposing. So that means if you earn over €70 as a married couple you will be taxed at probably 70%. This money will then be thrown at the HSE and other public bodies with even more recruitment of pointless staff.

They have stood behind a leader (Gerry Adams) that knows the identity of murders, he is also aware of where the bodies of disappeared are but will not give the locations. You should talk to the families that is has had an impact on - I'm not so sure they would vote SF.
With your reasoning so - what has the new generation of FF politicians got to do with the housing bubble? |

We know the reason - well some of them. It does not make it right. SF and the IRA have done nothing but wrong in this country. With FG and FF they have done somethings right. Look at the people that do go into hospital that get better, the people that are housed when homeless, these are all good things.

Homeless figures are rising month on month. Trolley figures are worse now that what they ever were.
450 average a day waiting on trolleys.
If SF can't fix it they certainly won't make it worse. The Sinn Fein and IRA you speak of poles apart from today's Sinn fein. With adams gone it opens up a whole new party. He was the biggest link to the IRA, even if he did deny it. Mary Lou and the very vast majority are politicians, not terrorists. |

Sein Fein will not fix this. No elected government will fix this. What do you think will happen when they get into power? To fix this problem it is not a matter of building new hospital or just throwing money at it. It is about identifying why people are on trolleys. You think Sein Fein will make the hard decisions relating to the HSE? Or will they tax people higher and just thrown that money at it?

So you think the very government that caused and continue to cause it will fix it? Any scandal that has ever happened, including the current one, have been at the hands of FF/FG. They will never fix these things becuase they know they will be voted back in regardless. |

Who in the current Sinn fein have murdered people?
Simon harris the minister of health, tony obriens boss, said during the week that Tony obrien should not stand down despite having a connection to the board of management of the American firm doing the cervical tests, the same Tony obrien who is/was head of the HSE who condemned so far 17 women to death by hiding false negative results.
Simon harris has stood by him.
17 innocent women.
Thats ok tho because hes not SF right?

Is that everyone in sf? Do you just become a drug dealing murderer and fuel laundering gangster by joining the party? How does that work? You seem to be saying that you don't actually need to deal drugs, launder fuel or murder anyone to be one of them? Fuuuuuck! |

FG and FF didn't have the balls to call for him to be sacked straight out, it took SF to start putting the pressure on.
I think anyone apart from FG, would do better.
It's been scandal after scandal and nothing done since they have been in power.
There is also the housing crisis, where it is close to 10,000 people homeless.
FG only out to serve the upper middle class and the rich, even more so than FF.
I have never voted for either and never will.
