Has anyone else noticed that the price has been creeping up across the board to near boom time prices.

I haven't noticed any price increases in any of the hotels that I stay in. There are still offers out there so maybe some price changes are driven by events in the locality.

I think in Dublin in particular the inflated hotel prices have a lot to with the fact that the city council house many people in hotel rooms paid for courtesy of us the taxpayer.im led to believe this will now change as the council has changed how it deems to house citizens and no longer will hotel dwelling “homeless” be afforded a bump to the top of the housing list , this should see a decrease in those declaring themselves homeless in hotels and should free up hotel rooms for their normal purpose

Lickie Manor

I was checking into a hotel the other week. At the counter, a guy in front of me said curtly to the receptionist, "I hope the porn channel is disabled."

Unbelievable what some people are into!

We switched from booking.com to hotels.com, simply for their reward card system. Book ten nights using hotels.com and they give you the average cost of the ten nights against your next booking. You'd be surprised how quickly you get up to ten nights.

We recently booked into Grafton Street's Travelodge Hotel. We were charged €175 for what we'd only describe as a box room, there was no breakfast included in this price. Total rip off. I think airbnb is the only way to go from now on.

When Sweets comes to me in Dublin I shop around. We get an apartment for the same price as a box room hotel!

I hadn't heard of this site before. The one night free is certainly a benefit. Especially if work pay for the 10!

Dublin

There’s a general shortage of hotel rooms in Dublin so hotel’s can charge what they want, i read somewhere they need an extra 3000 bedrooms in Dublin to keep up with demand

Sites like dealrush are handy... there are so many hotels and holiday cottages around the country on it that its pretty easy to snap up a deal for wherever you're planning to go. Booking.com also have a rewards system if you're booking through them
