So with the Lidl topic dominating the news now lets focus instead on the good community spirit that has been seen in cities, towns, villages and all over Ireland.I know local farmers have helped nurses get to work, local contractors have cleared roads to help people and emergency services, neighbours watching out for others and the elderly.Small things can help..I gave my neighbour my loaf of bread as she has kids...i also called to neighbours asking if they needed anything from the shop...small simple acts of kindness that should be the norm and part of everyday life.So lets take the positive from things and remember there is always more good than bad out there.

Well done OP. This is what doesn't get enough publicity. Well done to all the selfless people of Ireland who gave their time and help to those in need. Unfortunately there's always a few undesirables who take the good away with their behaviour.

People sometimes forget that they are people all alone and while they are out enjoying the snow forget the despair they might be feeling so I just checked in regularly with anyone I know was on their own. I also bought some coal for an elderly couple who had mentioned to me that they couldn't get oil delivered before the red warning.
