No need to lie about your age. There are plenty of people looking for men in your age group. Nothing makes me block someone quicker than if they say, I know my profile says I'm 34 but I'm really blah blah blah. It makes me feel like they will continue to say whatever they need to say to get what they want whether it's the truth or not. Just be honest  |

I don't get it to be honest as there's 40 and 50 somethings here who look fantastic, are the life and soul of any party and know more moves than a porn star 
...But if someone want's to limit their experience and available options on Fab, you've got to respect their decision too...

It seems a lot have 45 as their upper age which is grand at the minute but I’ve a birthday next week and I will then be ruled out bu hey it’s their loss for me it’s more about the person though don’t want to be having a chat with someone about who the strongest power ranger is ! |

I have age limits on mine but they’re really only serving suggestions, I don’t have people outside that age range blocked but I had to put a number in and no matter what it was someone would be outside it.
I do respect someone being honest about age, as I met a guy for a coffee yrs ago that was supposed to be 35, it was obvious he was significantly older and when I asked he said, oh yeah I’m almost 50.... eah.. no shit, I kinda noticed.

I know you said ageists in a tongue in cheek way but I'd like to share an analogy I've used before to get guys to accept my age preferences a little more gracefully;
I'm chubby. I am not slender. Not anywhere. I have boobs, and a big butt and a soft tummy. There are many, many guys that only want to meet gym fit girls. Would I message them saying, I know you aren't interested in my body type because you've specifically mentioned it, but I thought I'd ignore your preference and message you anyway. Sure I've got thunder thighs but I have a great personality! I have a keg, not a six pack but I love to give oral! That scale reading?? What!? Come on, weight is just a number!!!
It sounds ridiculous because it is. People know what they want and most spell it out in their preferences. Don't try to convince them otherwise, because it really just comes across as begging or desperation. Neither is attractive. There are women/couples you will match up with. Be gracious, accepting of others preferences and patient |

Well said 309*, I agree 100%. Love your analogy too, but let me tweak it just a little...
A Fab guy says he is looking for someone just like you, exactly as you are and you go to message him to say Hi. You are blocked from even doing that because you are a cup size too small or an inch too short on his listed pref.
Everything else is a perfect match but when you cant even say hello because of one minor detail it is a bit disappointing, no? Robbed of the chance to beg, convince and seem desperate too

But, if I am blocked, he is clearly NOT looking for me. It's not up to me to decide what he wants. That is up to him. It is up to me to be self aware enough see that I am not going to be desired by everyone that I find attractive and gracious enough to accept that reality. |
