What's in a veri?
Jump to: Newest in thread
When reading someone's veri's what do you most like to see written? What type of things inspire the most confidence that this could be the kind of person you'd like to meet? It makes me happy when another woman has said the guy has impressive oral skills. I also like to know if someone has a nice personality. One thing that makes me kind of back off is if they have many veri's over a good amount of time and they are all just coffee meets. What impresses you in a veri? |

I never judge someone by a vert someone else has written about them. I chat and meet them and make my own opinnion.in my view verts aee only to prove the person is genuine and do turn up to a meet whether it be social or play |

I always do. I rely heavily on what I read in veri's and I go and check out the person that has written them as well. But then again, I also read all the Amazon reviews before buying anything |

Yes, but I'm saying the person has been here for years and they have 15 veri's all coffee meets. That's strange to me."
Shouldn't be strange at all that some people don't like blabbing who they rode |

Some like their privacy and prehaps will only display a social coffee /drinks meet and not a play meet. |

I kind of see it like they've met 15 people for coffee and not one has wanted to go any farther. Why? Like I said, I personally rely on the word of other women when choosing someone to meet. I greatly value the opinion of women. |

I've been chatting a good bit to somebody with a view to meeting in the near future, and I like to see that his verifications reflect the same person I'm chatting with. It doesn't mean that I make my mind up based on them, just that I feel they back up what I see for myself.
On the other side of that, I met someone once whose veris were very graphic in describing his bedroom talents, to the point where I almost felt like he had no personality outside of that. We met and it was a very pleasant surprise to find that he was in fact, the complete package and not just a 'fuck machine'.
So veris are good, but I'd still go with my own instincts first and take the veris with a hefty pinch of salt. |

I like verifications that aren't overtly sexual, we all know what goes on during play meets, no need to be graphic, I like women to have verifications that will let me know they have brains, nothing can kill an erection as quickly as a woman who can't hold a conversation.
Personally I hide all my verifications and keep the summary up, all it tells you is that I've met some people and some more than once, that should be enough for any potential meet to judge me on.
It doesn't help that some of my most flattering veris are from unlos members.
If I was meeting new people I'd show veris if they really wanted to but I like to keep things under wraps. |

Agreed, you have to make up your own mind for sure! And I can definitely understand what you mean about how some veri's only focus on the physical.
Yes, most things on Fab are best taken with a pinch of salt |

I have to say extemely graphic veri's aren't my favourite. But that is down to the writer not the person being verified so that's why I check them out too. Maybe that's just how they write, and it's not a reflection of the guy I'm interested in. |

Verifications are personal and only the sending and one receiving knows it's true meaning.
Having said that it does give a flavour of both.
Verifications are like going into a restaurant and looking at the menu. You can read all you want but you can't guarantee a good meal.
Best stick to the sample menu!

EXACTLY!!! I mean, maybe not. Maybe it is they just want social veri's and that's up to them. But that is genuinely the first thing that pops into my head. |

I like veris where you can see there was some thought and creativity going into the writing it because the person had a real special time, not too graphically, but different from the usual 'where will I start, great kisser, treat with respect' crap.
Social veris are useless IMO. |

I think verifications are very important they are other ppls input into you , if your genuine clean and safe and most importantly not a nut job if you have verifications and choose to hide them ppl don’t know that do they , I know it’s hard for unverified ppl but there are plenty on here that would meet unverified me I never would for safety reasons |

I feel the same. Pretty much to me a social veri is like saying yes this is a living breathing man. I can prove it because I watched him drink a cappuccino |

It means they had fifteen coffee meets which could have went on to futher meets which they did not verify
Reading between the lines is not always a good thing there loads here that meet for coffee and verify that and then go on to have repeat meets with that person and don't reverie
I must check my last veri I think it almost twelve months old but that doesn't mean I haven't had a meet in twelve months |

I'm very skeptical in general, so I do investigate and read between the lines a bit. I do look at dates of veri's as well. So that way if I choose to start chatting to the person I can ask them about it if it's concerning to me. |

Veris don't tell the whole story either, I became a site supporter to make sure I would be able to contact my first fab crush and was lucky enough to have met her more than once but the verification won't hint at that. And a verification is only going to be a snapshot of that moment in time, it isn't going to let you know how things escalated or how the relationship changed. |

But the whole story is none of my business. I want a snapshot. I want a general piece of information from another woman about what that person is like to meet. |

I love reading them and receiving them but I never base my decision on someone I'm going to meet off them. All too often I've compared myself to the people they have previously met and think feck that I don't compare I could never meet them so now decisions are based purely on how well we get on because just because he or she had a great time doesn't mean that you will. Different strokes and all that Craic |

I use veris to see if there is consistency in them. I can usually read between the lines and definitely overlook certain phrase. I look closely at who else they've met and who those meets have met too. Have they a history of just one off play meets or repeats. How do they come across on the forums if they do engage on them? Most importantly how do they communicate in pm, do I feel I'm important or am I but another option 'if it happens it does if it doesn't it not important'. Do they genuinely engage or are the replies just short yes and nos with no leading conversation. All these will determine if well get on or not before even thinking of meeting them. Seems to work for me as most of my meets have not been preluded with a coffee first.
We all place more emphasis on different aspects of veris, profiles and photos depending on our own experiences and personalities that no one can really say how important veris or profiles or photos are to another person in determining suitability. |

I definitely look into potential meets to that depth as well. Veri's, although greatly important, are just one aspect. I don't meet publicly for coffee or drinks either. So I'm right there with you about trying to determine if there is enjoyable communication that isn't forced, cliched or awkward. If I'm not engaged by conversation there isn't a hope of meeting.
Thank you for your considerate response |

Absolutely! And, as a woman looking to meet a man, of course I'm going to look at the woman's words and wonder more about why she had to leave early and why the biggest compliment she gave is that he can pay attention to his watch. |

It could be just read as two people met for a drink and a chat but no attraction simple
It does happen.not every person u meetg socially is going to end up a play meet.what is one person attraction is another persons turn off |

I can indeed.
I could be interpreted very differently without being rude and giving a 'bad' verification too.
One or both could have lied about what they looked like in photos or age or he was 5'6" and not 6'5"(and say it was dyslexia). Maybe one was akin to a backside of a bus but couldn't be said... Any of these or more could attribute to no connection/chemistry.
Still not a good verification or at best not a 'bad' veris. My point was there are some bad veris depends on how they're written. One can be optimistic about a verification or one can read between the lines. No one writes a verification that can leave so much speculation without reason. |

How does that read? Can be read in different ways can't it
It could be just read as two people met for a drink and a chat but no attraction simple
It does happen.not every person u meetg socially is going to end up a play meet.what is one person attraction is another persons turn off
I can indeed.
No one writes a verification that can leave so much speculation without reason."
I agree. Many times it's more about what's not said than what is said. |

I would simply read that as a coffee that went no further. It wouldn’t stop me engaging with someone because
A: I don’t know the dynamic of that social or their interaction
B: It proves the person exists
I genuinely believe that meets that don’t go well result in no veri being left at all, I also don’t believe that if the guy knew the coffee meet didn’t go well he would display a veri that could be interpreted as negative |

I don’t pay too much attention to what is said in verifications as I like to judge the person for myself.
Some people that have a lot of social veris might not want to display their play veris because who they have had fun with is their own business and no one else’s. |

Verifications are merely an indication of existence rather than a scale of 1 to 10 fabbers guide! If that's the logic then all profile blurb is gospel. We are all different in our likes and approach. How a person fabs is their perogative, what works for one may not for another. Also a huge amount of fake veris, profiles and pic's. Be savvy, be safe. |

"Loads of verify are coffee based
Yes, but I'm saying the person has been here for years and they have 15 veri's all coffee meets. That's strange to me."
Most of my veris are social. I give a verification after the first social meet. I don’t always show the ones I get for when we play. I’m not into too much info. |

"If they're all from coffee meets then that's a bad sign I think "
I agree 100%. Many people have disagreed with that theory so far on this thread. But, to me it sends up all kinds of red flags about things I'd rather avoid. |

First off great if it is written by someone I know or someone who knows someone I know. Then I can rest at ease they are real and not timewasters.
Secondly, that a good time was had. That the verifyer was at ease and can commend their company and not just their bodyparts.
I'd be enthused by that kinda thing |

Yes! Exactly! Something you can glean a bit of information from to see if that's the type of person you're interested in spending time with. Of course it's not the only thing that you consider, but it can be very helpful in making the decision to meet someone or not. |

I pay little heed to veris afterall who displays a bad veri. Veris are subjective. I certainly not on fab to earn stripes or badges that are displayed for all to see and to assess me. I love getting veris for my eyes only. And I happy to use my own intuition rather than rely on veris |

Shouldn't be strange at all that some people don't like blabbing who they rode
I kind of see it like they've met 15 people for coffee and not one has wanted to go any farther. Why? Like I said, I personally rely on the word of other women when choosing someone to meet. I greatly value the opinion of women."
My curiosity has been peaked.
Are you saying that you contact the ladies a guy has met, asking about the guy? Or just read the verification the lady has left?
If it's the former, that's kinda worrying. The latter I'm fine with.
I agree with the posters who say they don't feel the need to post their versus as some have different levels of privacy. |
