There was a young woman from Monaghan on First Dates Ireland last week, and I'd say hers was quite possibly the worst accent I've ever heard. But as I always say on these accent threads, you could probably go ten miles up the road and the accent would be totally different. So, if I knew where that lovely young woman was from exactly, then I'd say that was the worst, not all of Monaghan. |

I've barely travelled Ireland, most accents seem the same to me besides a few words. Obviously Dublin and Northern accents are alot different to the munster ones but the big town and cities if munster the accents don't seem hugely different. What the say is different ha. Country accents in any county seem tough to decipher. Worse accent for me being from limerick is..... Limerick but I feel we actually sound really genuine when we speak haha |

If you're from limerick you'd actually notice there's 3 + accents here easily. I'm from the city so tone down the rubberbandits 75% and you have me but there's some really nice sounding accents here too haha |

Haha I dunno I think limerick people blurt out what they're thinking alot and sometimes when you're afraid to ask a question in a group another limerick person usually starts asking haha. When two limerick people are arguing or one is really angry and shouting then it's probably the worst accent to be heard though haha |

Doesn't that apply to any area. Head out west and it gets broader till you hit the Kerry border and it goes south from there
Most counties have lovely and terrible accent's.
Have been told my accent is misleading not sure if that is good or bad |

Haha a Galway girl I was texting before said the first time she heard me speak in person she was shocked and a little frightened but a waterford girl told me I sound lovely and the poles at work don't believe where I'm from cause the accents don't match so overall I'm good haha |

Apologies but Larne is in Co. Antrim. Belfast is in Co. Antrim. Our accent is fairly grim but Larne? They can't even pronounce my name correctly.
Again... boke |

Have to agree with Longford and D4. Always makes me think Mucksavage and Wanker respectively. What really gets me riled though is the people from outside D4 that cultivate that accent. Now that's an unadulterated Wanker.
Oddly I've never heard anyone cultivating a Longford accent |

"I never said that they were a turn off. That was Jay. He's horrid picky altogether
Whoa there JD, can we have at least one thread where you don't throw me under the bus?
I'm here. Sincere apologies Jay. It was just too easy.
I'll rectify by saying that I have met you in person and couldn't hope to meet a nicer guy.
Ginger, don't let this one pass you by but talk posh Dublinese to him FFS!
Haha thanks JD, sure you know it's just I'm a poor country boy and the big city folk scare me
With their hippity-hop and interwebs
I'll show you a thing or two about us cityslickers next week Jay!!!
Oh boy oh boy
Go Jay n Ginger. Almost sounds like a singing duo, like Sonny and Cher. I see great things in your future.
Ok its mostly sex related but great things all the same
He's way under my age filters so let's call it market research
Never checked that
I'm probably over them but I'd advise you to adjust downwards to include Jay, rather than upwards to include me. I think you'll fare better
And I'm immediately apologising for the selfish, gloating nature of that, like I was in the options "
Awh JD you're a sweetheart......I swear I'm not paying him people |

I strongly believe in Fab being free and Fabbing activities being even freer (is that a word?)
No participants have received gratuities of any kind in the production of this thread, though two of them may be grinning like Cheshire cats next week, with no monies having been exchanged, just good Fab style interaction (not me, as it would be wrong to post about self indulgence!) |

There may or may not be three grinning Cheshire cats but who's counting |

"Have to agree with Longford and D4. Always makes me think Mucksavage and Wanker respectively. What really gets me riled though is the people from outside D4 that cultivate that accent. Now that's an unadulterated Wanker.
Oddly I've never heard anyone cultivating a Longford accent "
Why would you agree with the D4 opinion |
