Bit of a Vanilla post. But a few of the lads are looking at a weekend away in Westport for ""Boys 40th Birthday weekender" ..... Is Westport a bit of a hotspot, or just a sleepy coastal village?

Embarrassed to say I'm not familiar with that part of the country.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Always a few around with hen and stag party's and plenty of tourists in season

No problom be a quite enough time now but from paddy's day onwards it will be busy generally have fun

Westport or carrick on shannon great spots for weeked away with the lads or gals

Just be sure it's not one of the family friendly hotels uo there and you'll be grand. Have fun... we always have in Westport. Carrick great for the stags and hen crowds. Depends what u looking for i guess

Westport is a cracking spot. Love going out there. Great atmosphere too, plenty nice pubs etc.

Have been to it quite a few times both with the lads and on a romantic break. Good spot, stay in the town and there used to be a nightclub attached to castlecourt hotel. Wouldn't be a wild stag weekend though

Thanks all for the replies, all sounding positive!

Looking at one of the May weekends, so sounds like it'll be in full swing by then.

Age range from 40 - 52 so wont be looking for hardcore partying lol!

Some of us more interested in a comfy bed and a good breakfast! ..... But eye candy always welcome!

Westport is a great town with lively pubs at the weekend.
