OP not to sure about anyone having parties etc. Prob best to put up a meet request and go from there.

op derry is a great city. city of culture as few years. some great hotel,hard etc. peace bridge is a great view point of the river Foyle. also they a great walk around st.columbs park.plus the city walls  |

With the 16th being a Friday then you'll have a ball as the bars etc will be busy. Most hotels are near the popular bars so taxi's won't be an issue for you like they are for locals at closing time.
If you're into the historical side of things then a walking tour is good, weather dependent of course.

Check out meets section nearer time...we were hoping to go same weekend but now staying weekend after...There is a party scene in Derry but we've not heard of anything happening yet. Will let you know if hear of anything.

You'll get something as L'Derry is a place that a lot happens. There's a few up there that arrange parties many weekends. There is one at the end of the month but that doesn't help unfortunately. |

I'm a regular visitor to derry great people but the place is a shithole dont listen to them abercromby bar cracking wee bar they sell bomber jackets for a tenner some yous need to lighten up a bit |

Derry isn't a shithole you want to actually look at where you stay if that's the case. I know wishaw well and derry is a cut above that. |
