Have tried the fevertrees but came back to schweppes or club ..... just the plain ones. I tend to add different citrus fruits (depending on the gin) and crush the flesh to release the oils and juices. Lots of ice too abd yes, in a large, round glass!!

I don't have any cocktail recipes but I'm partial to gin and tonic with a slice of lime, cucumber or grapefruit, depending on my mood.

I like gin and tonic but instead of using tonic water replace it with some tonic syrup and dilute with prosecco...... add usual ice and citrus of choice ...... it's YUMMY!!!

To all you gin lover's.

Guessing this seldom happens to you but to stop your citrus fruits going off, slice and freeze them in a plastic container.

When serving, squeeze a little fresh lime juice into drink and add 2/3 slices of frozen limes instead of ice cubes. No watering down of your drinks. Enjoy.

The Gin Palace on Abbey Street Dublin is a great place for trying the very large selection of gins... Their taster menus are an excellent idea as you get to choose your own gins and tonics.

Am I right in saying that the Tanqueray is both strong and expensive?

On a related note, anyone ever order booze through Amazon, through Parcelmotel, to be delivered south? They say no liquid, so just curious if anyone has successfully received some cheap booze through dubious postage?

Drink responsibly. The purpose of alcohol is too have fun. Too have too much is not having fun, for you or those in your company.

Tanqueray no 10, dingle or my favourite Monkey47. Hendricks would blow the back legs off a donkey if more than normal is consumed. Also the Aldi gin, can't remember the name, in the bell shape bottle is nice too.

Tesco do their own brand slimline tonic with lime. By far the best tonic IV had. Much nicer than any fever tree or Thomas J henrys plus it's normally 2 1litre bottles for €1.50.

I'm not one for spritzers but served a Gordon's pink gin with frozen berries, crushed ice, half the glass of white lemonade and topped up with prosecco at a Xmas party and it went down an absolute storm.

At Townhouse we have our oriGIN bar which currently holds 46 gins, some are small batch and rare. We have lots of different Fevertree mixers and condiments to go with the gin and all staff have to be gin drinkers and/or have training on serving a good gin. It's a mini passion of mine lol
